What would happen if the COD franchise skips a year?

Because I think the series needs a break. Not that I hate it, I just don't like it coming out every November like it's a damn holiday.

How would that even be possible.... they have 4 devs working on the games. I would not mind if it did skip a year, if it would help Treyarch make a better game. I'm not implying that treyach has made bad games btw.... I'm not a treyarch hater like most IW fanboys.

Not true. There are two kinds of people. People who play COD and that's about it and people who play COD and many other games. The latter dosen't let COD get in the way of other games and the former wouldn't play other games to begin with.

If it did skip a year, people wouldn't hate on it as much. At least I hope not. The COD games have real quality, they just make a yearly version of them and that is why people have a distroted and biased view about them. Or those people who hate it get owned by all the "kiddies."

My friends and I would just play a different FPS until a new one comes out.

I don't understand you people. Each developer takes two years to make one COD game and everyone says it's milking, Naughty Dog takes two years to make a new Uncharted and it's the 2nd coming of Jesus.Fightingfan

Nothing. The CoD audience doesn't look at release dates like we do. When they see a MW3 ad on tv they go "lol what? The new CoD is coming out? Kewl man. Ima get that.", they're not like Battlefield 3 fans that go "OH MY GOD, BATTLEFIELD 3!!! BOW DOWN TO THE KING OF MULTIPLAYER, BOW DOWN TO MOTHER DICE!!!!". Battlefield 3 fans can get kind of crazy, y'all should've seen me when I found out you can see your legs in BF3.

A lot of people would cry, I guess. Personally, I'd shrug and continue playing my games.

From what I played from MW2 and from what I seen from the recent COD games the gameplay and everything is generally underwhelming in the games.I don't also listen to empty promises from the devs who are making MW3 so I'm not interested in the game.

probably due to the fact that they put out a cod, that should be more like an expansion pack and charge it full price

Then a lot of 12 year old's mothers would $60+ (assuming they want all those 15$ map-packs).

In a perfect world, they'd take 3 or so years per game and return to the roots of CoD 1 and United Offensive, but that's asking too much

Something would need to happen first before it even skips a year.

That something would be: The franchise wouldnt have that yearly demand from its audience.

Someone is upset because devs care more about Console gaming than they do PC gaming.
