We're all hardcore gamers, don't deny it. We're as hardcore as they get. Not only are we on a gamesite, but we're arguing over systems. That being said...
The Wii is completely casual. I'm trying not to get moderated but, the Wii is easily, IMO, the most low budget, casual, joke of a system ever released.
What's worse... I thought of Nintendo as a 'hardcore' company out to save console sheep gaming culture. The games are tacky and simple, quickly made shovel-ware. A few key titles shine though... unfortunately these titles are aimed at someone still to reach puberty. I mean, why make complex decisions that place gamers in compromising situations... when you can just bash Luigi over the head with a mallet?
Anywho, in order for the Wii to impress me, it's got to do something I've never seen before. I've seen motion sensing. I've played duck hunt. I've been slumming with low-end hardware that just fell off the backof atruck.I'd need to see a totally immersive game that gives me complete freedom of movement. A complex game, with a compelling story, and freedom ofmovement with controls. I can't do that on a PC, yet, so that's what it would take to impress me. Let me swing my wiimote around like a blade, while the game registers every movement and recreates it in the game so I can have sword duels with an enemy.
