What would you do if you came across $1000?

I just got the remainder of my pell grant back from college and I got a little over 1000 dollars in checks. (People who say college is too expensive must not consider community college, I got paid to go to school. :| )

Anyway I have an Xbox 360 and a PS3. I was thinking about selling my old HDTV which is only 26" and upgrading to a bigger set or maybe even a Wii. Though it would be nice if I got an HDTV with more component inputs if I got a Wii so I could use component for the Wii. I don't really want to spend all of it and would prefer to save most but what would you do. Buy a Wii, upgrade TV set, or buy a crap load of games?

meh im going toa community collge now. In 1 more year im gonna transfer to University of South Florida (go bulls!) but yea lol i paid like i think 1,100 dollars for a semester here. *edit* brightfutures scholarship paid

I use to ask this question alot for sheer boredom, sometimes asking my friends what would you do with 10k.

My answer at the time was 2.5k gaming PC, and the rest would go into constructing a gaming room build for gamers. Tvs, consoles, surround sound, perhaps some Lan working of some cheaper gaming pcs, and so forth. I would buy every game I always I wanted to play from past to future.

Save it. I want to own a house one day and the more money I save now the better.foxhound_fox

I always thought that if I ever got a high amount of money, I would just use it for paying for school...

Now $1000 aint that much for school... But if it were like a mill, going to the best school I wanted to go to would be my first thing to do.

ok so get like a 35 incher or so. they are like 600-700$. and then you have 300$ on games which can get you like 6 and i f you dont want 6 save it fore when new games come out

Open up an E*trade account. Buy Ford at $4.39 and sell at 5.00. Buy about 220 shares at $996 and sell at $110. Pay the $25.98 in commisions to etrade and you have $75 bucks free. Rinse repeat and all your game purchases are free sorta. Its what I'm doing.

You can start a day trading account with 25k. So if you knew how to do that, you could stay home and never have a boss.
