10 grand stars out of 10 :) It was the only game this gen to continually impress me despite how deep I was into the game. It's THE 3D platformer, and it's nice to see Luigi have a fairly useful role in the game. Nice to see Luigi anywhere.
Controls could use some work (I'm being nice here, sometimes they're awful)
Collision detection could also have used some more work.
it'd be nice to be able to manually adjust the camera. This is a 3d platformer after all.
Does Wii Motion Plus do anything for the game? Because the regular controller is a pile of crap.... I sometimes felt the game was harder than it should be because I was fighting the laggy controls.
I hope Nintendo uses that new pass patent so they'll make the game more difficult.

Well they said they are making Super Mario Galaxy 2 harder then the first one. I think every Nintendo game after New Super Mario Bros. Wii will have that patent your talking about because Nintendo said that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first game that uses it.

No, the Wii Motion Plus doesn't work on older games... The controls worked fine for me.

8.5 out of 10. It's extremely overrated in my opinion - it's fun, but there are lots of better games out there. I would probably give it a 9 or higher if it used a controller instead of the Wiimote.
9,1, it was a very good game with some great graphics etc BUT what lowers its score from me is the difficulty, it was just to dam easy (either that or i'm just fantastic at it :D)

Just because something is older doesn't mean nostalgia is a factor, you gotta remember Mario 64 was released onto the DS aswell with updated parts so it's quite possible some people played Mario 64 around the same time they played Galaxy without ever owning an N64, i won't even comment on the DK and BK being better than M64 as there is really no point :D.

The only thing SM64 has over galaxy is slightly more open ended levels and a slightly higher difficulty. But even then looking back on it SM64 was pretty easy as well.

But even then looking back on it SM64 was pretty easy as well.Aslo SM64 had over most other games was being the first 3D Console Platformer to get it right most of the stuff before it was bad or using on rails platforming. 2D Sidescroller but putting the camera behind the character.
9.5. The ending was underwhelming, they should have gone back to the castle after the ending but it just went back to the ship as if nothing ever happened.
