Great game but:
Controls could use some work (I'm being nice here, sometimes they're awful)
Collision detection could also have used some more work.
it'd be nice to be able to manually adjust the camera. This is a 3d platformer after all.
Does Wii Motion Plus do anything for the game? Because the regular controller is a pile of crap.... I sometimes felt the game was harder than it should be because I was fighting the laggy controls.
Well they said they are making Super Mario Galaxy 2 harder then the first one. I think every Nintendo game after New Super Mario Bros. Wii will have that patent your talking about because Nintendo said that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first game that uses it.9.5, the game had me mesmerized.
But it was a bit on the easy side. :P
I hope Nintendo uses that new pass patent so they'll make the game more difficult.

No, the Wii Motion Plus doesn't work on older games... The controls worked fine for me.

I love that new patent. :D Anyone who criticizes it should put their ego on check.[QUOTE="tagyhag"]

You are talking about Demo Play right? Well, it they do start to implement it on their games I see no reason why they should not make them harder.
I would give Galaxy a 9.5.

Exactly, it's pretty much the primary reason of why they'd made it.8.5 out of 10. It's extremely overrated in my opinion - it's fun, but there are lots of better games out there. I would probably give it a 9 or higher if it used a controller instead of the Wiimote.
8.0 - 8.9. Imo, Super Mario 64 was 10x the game that galaxy is.II_Seraphim_IInostalgia goggles can make it seem like that
banjo kazooie yes. DK64 took mindless collecting to a whole new extreme though. different colored bananas for the different characters WTF?Super Mario Galaxy was definitely much better than Mario 64. This is easily the best example of how nostalgia can cloud the mind. I don't even get people with Mario 64. I thought DK 64 and Banjo Koozie were better than Mario 64.

The great thing is anyone can spin things around like that. Mario 64 was definitely much better than Galaxy, this is easily the best example of how a graphical update can cloud the mind, i don't even get people with Galaxy, i thought Mario 64 was better. Just because something is older doesn't mean nostalgia is a factor, you gotta remember Mario 64 was released onto the DS aswell with updated parts so it's quite possible some people played Mario 64 around the same time they played Galaxy without ever owning an N64, i won't even comment on the DK and BK being better than M64 as there is really no point :D.Super Mario Galaxy was definitely much better than Mario 64. Better sound, controls, more polish, better end game reward for collecting all the stars as mario. The list goes on. The only thing SM64 has over galaxy is slightly more open ended levels and a slightly higher difficulty. But even then looking back on it SM64 was pretty easy as well.Super Mario Galaxy was definitely much better than Mario 64. This is easily the best example of how nostalgia can cloud the mind. a 9.5 to me, razor sharp controls, amazing levels, tons of fun. Imo the bosses could have been a tiny bit tougher.
