Super Mario Galaxy was definitely much better than Mario 64. This is easily the best example of how nostalgia can cloud the mind. I don't even get people with Mario 64. I thought DK 64 and Banjo Koozie were better than Mario 64.

The great thing is anyone can spin things around like that. Mario 64 was definitely much better than Galaxy, this is easily the best example of how a graphical update can cloud the mind,not just better graphics. Better sound, controls, more polish, better end game reward for collecting all the stars as mario. The list goes on. The only thing SM64 has over galaxy is slightly more open ended levels and a slightly higher difficulty. But even then looking back on it SM64 was pretty easy as well.
SM64 isn't all that great honestly. Galaxy tops it in almost everyway.
Ive seen it , ive played it... Didnt understand why all this fuss about it really... I understand myself , is a very nice game overall for platform but .. no way more than 9.0. There are so many other elements outside of this game , that cant give it more than 9. And now that ithink about it 8.5 would be better but ,,, oh well .. technically is an extremely well done game so deserves more... But no way more than 9.0
Controls could use some work (I'm being nice here, sometimes they're awful)
Collision detection could also have used some more work.
it'd be nice to be able to manually adjust the camera. This is a 3d platformer after all.
Does Wii Motion Plus do anything for the game? Because the regular controller is a pile of crap.... I sometimes felt the game was harder than it should be because I was fighting the laggy controls.

Controls were great, you could control the camera in open areas (did you even try pushing the d-pad?), and the controller was plenty responsive. Mario Galaxy was awesome, and you're a big silly goose!
Bought a Wii just to experience this game, then sold it haha. It is amazing, high AAA for me. One of the top 3 games of this gen and something special.

nostalgia goggles can make it seem like that nah, i replayed it 2 weeks ago. I'm having an old school run through, playing through every game I own that is from the PS2 gen and down.
Lmao it didn't let me vote 7.0-7.9 so my vote went to 8.0 - 8.9. When I tried voting the page refreshed and the results didn't pop up. I hated it. It was the worst mario ever to me. Sunshine was tons better although I was happy they returned to the original gameplay of the n64 version.
