I fail to see how you could have the exact same game on the Wii or a PS3/360? If it was the exact same game, then either the PS3/360 version would have crappy graphics, which makes the HD option pointless, or the Wii version wouldn't properly use the Wiimote, which make that pointless. So either way somebody gets scewed.
wii mote cannot be used better than a dual analog or even a m/k for the vast majority of games/genres
fighters= better on dual analog due to amounts of buttons needed
rpg's= doesn't really matter- most rpg's only use about 4 buttons (ok cancel start camera)
shooters= can go either way, but no one can deny for accuracy and sheer PWNAGE the m/k is THE way to go for Fps's and shooters in general.
action/adventure(examples, DMC, GOW, NG)- these games typically use a lot of buttons, which the wiimote doesn't have. and even if you say it does have as many buttons, most of the buttons on the wiimote are extremely hard to press, especially when you're doing combos in games like these.
stealth- this could go either way, but again, a stealth game such as MGS or Spilnter cell would tend to work better on a D-A
puzzle- this could go either way, i can see a game like portal controlling excellently on the wiimote, while a game like dr. mario not so much.
strategy/RTS- m/k is essential to these games
racing-racing controllers are available for both other consoles
sports- no idea not big on sports games
platformers- depends, SMG works beautifully, but then again so does R&C and banjo.
i can see the wiimote working well with every type of game if implemented correctly, but the chances of it being BETTER than a DA or m/k are slim to none in most genres.
and this factor, combined with superior online, better features, and better graphics, and HD, is what puts a conventinal conrolled console or a pc over the wii.
The former for me. Wiimote=gimmick to me.Heydanbud92
Yeah, I like my Wii, but so far it hasn't justified my purchase the way the 360 has (the wiimote is still under-utilized). Just thinking about how Zelda or Metroid Prime would look on the 360 makes me weep for the potential of an HD Nintendo console.
