What you want from next-gen of handhelds...

Ok, I thought this would be a good system wars topic, so here it goes: post what you want from each handheld of next gen (include a Microsoft version if you'd like) and say which one you'd want most.

Here's mine:

PSP-2:

Well, the PSP was a portable PS2, so I want this to be a portable PS3 (in terms of graphics). I would mind some ports/prequels of some big Sony exclusivegames like Heavenly Sword, Drake's whatever, Ratchet, TEKKEN 6, etc. I want it to be fully capable of doing all internet things that a computer can do, especially watching movies and downloading music. A touch screen would not be a bad idea, but Sony already has a bad rep. with Sheep for "copying" the motion sensing controllers. I guess that's it...oh yeah, compatality with PS4 and backwards compatibility with original PSP games).

DS-2/Next Nintendo Handheld:

Hmmm, I definitely would like the multimedia functions like the PSP, but Nintendo prefers to stick to gaming only (which isn't a bad thing). Better graphics (Gamecube quality would be sweet!). I wouldn't mind them keeping touch screen, but I'd prefer it all be on one screen so it would be a little confusing, then again it does make it a unique system... Most of all: SSB portable! And of course the next Pokemon game. Oh yeah, backwards compatibility with GB, GBC, GBA, and DS...well, DS and GBA at least (no need for the others if they make a Pokemon Silver.Gold remake. lol).

Microsoft handheld:

Basically the same as PSP-2 except theMicrosoft exclusives (Halo portable would be a HUGE hit), and maybe without all the extras so it can be the system who want the best graphics (a.k.a. not Nintendo) and don't want all the extra crap that Sony likes to add.

If these all came out like I said, then I would get PSP-2 first, then DS-2/Next Nintendo Handheldsecond (for Pokemon and Smash!!!!! lol).

Nintendo has always offered the best in handheld gaming so I'm sticking with them to end.

I'd also like to add that it's wrong to assume Nintendo's next handheld will have the worst graphics. Nintendo has gone with graphical superiority before (SNES, N64, Gamecube anyone?).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking after reading the other guy's post about the graphics....maybe they will go for graphics, but like I said I prefer cartoonish from Nintendo, but I guess you could have realistic graphics while remaining cartoonish in certain games like Mario and Kirby (like the Pixar movies).

For the Next nintendo portable I would like them to keep the touch screen, but double its horizontal size and eliminate the top screen. Gamecube quality graphics, keep the mic, add better speakers and add the ability to transfer vc games onto it via flash card.

For the touch screen, add a special technology that allows you to touch two places on the touchscreen at once so, if you needed a solution for two screens, they could be divided and each used as an invidiual touchscreen

^Yup, and (normal) people would actually be able to afford that combination as apposed to PSP+PS3.

I used to say that gaming was the only thing that mattered in handhelds, but now I'm in a train for 80 minutes, and I can't play a game that long. So I got a psp to supplement the ds, but I like the ds's games 10x more, so I want the best of both worlds in 1 handheld next gen, from my favorite handheld maker.

I want whatever Nintendo does next. The amount of quality games they get is phenomenal.

They can not get to graphic heavy the more graphic heavy they become the less batt power there is. That why Nintendo wins the handheld because they understand that. They will not make a more graphic heavy DS until they can get the same Batt life that the normal DS gets.

I would like a Nintendo/Apple cell phone has my next handheld.

PSP2 should have dual analog sticks and a touch screen. PSP's screen is about the right size. Not sure if a dual screen clamshell is the best design though. Just a large touch screen is probably best for PSP. And of course more powerful hardware. Hard to say whether it should use cartidges or a new UMD........... flash sticks are still far more expensive than UMDs for the size.

2 analog sticks and GBA micro sized. As far as I'm concerned, portables are getting to large. I hardly bring it out of home anyways because it's like carrying a brink in my pocket.

From the PSP 2I would want dual analogs, and maybe some sort of SIXAXIS tiltsensing style feature or something. Oh, and more games.

From the Dual Screen 2, I think I would want the obvious previously mentioned power boost, as well as a PEZ dispenser. Other than that, I really can't think of anything I would want in it.

psp with camera and video call capabilities, integration with home, compatibility with ps1, ps2 and of course psp games plus official support for homebrew games, even if they need to take a sandbox approach. Montion and touch sensing, gps, wi-fi and longer battery life.

Oh yeah, TV out with DLNA support.

All of that for 250US MAX.

I don't see what the big deal about that is. If you don't have them, they don't make games that need them.

Alot of handhelds lovers say that handhelds are better then consoles?

Do you know why that is?

Because it doesn't take $10 million to create a games on them. Therefore people can create what ever game they want and for whatever target audience. If you ask for better graphics, physics, etc. then guess what the budget to make those games WILL go up thus having LESS games being created and eves taking LESS risks, thus having the handhelds be as crappy as the consoles.

If you want those things then fine, but don't expect to see games like Rune Factory, Dead Head Fred, Trauma Center, and Gurumin.

For a PSP2, I'd actually want some decent games that I couldn't simply just play on my PS2. So less ports and remakes and more original games. Second analog nub and longer battery life would also be great. And maybe an internal hard drive so I don't have to waste money on memory sticks.

As for Nintendo's next handheld, no matter what it is, I know it'll be great because Nintendo has never failed to make a great handheld. I guess if anything specific, better speakers and an obvious graphics upgrade would be the two things most wanted.

And no matter which handheld it is, I want it to be able to feasibly fit into my pocket. The PSP can't fit into my pocket and my DS Lite can fit into the bigger ones, but it's kind of uncomfortable.
