They are names that had been put in place to label fanboys of a certain console. Cows, Lemmings, Sheep, Hermits, Manticores, all are terms to label the fanboys.
Personally, I don't like them. Seem like its a derogatory term, especially when a gamer on here accuses you of being one. Its not a bad thing to be a cow, sheep, whatever, but when you support all consoles and just because you own one of them, someone one labels you as one of the above (not manticore) and it is kind of annoying.
