It think PSP is way better than the DS personally...I don't own either one of them but I've played them a lot at school b/c my friends have them so I'm not partial to either one..anyways...PSP is better b/c it's graphic's looks a lot better, the games aren't little kiddie games like Mario they're actual sports and racing games and shooting games with violence. also on the PSP you can put videos, images and music so it's way better.Toyeboy
The PSP is better because it has shooting games with violence?

Nice logic. Because the DS has no shooters..... *cough**cough*resident evil ds, touch the dead, metroid prime hunters*cough**cough*. :D
Your judging solely by visuals... which will probably not turn out so well for your choice. The DS has the better selection of games, and a much bigger variety, even if there aren't tons of M rated games. That doesn't mean there aren't hardcore games on the DS.
Everyone says games are better but i couldnt find games that are known to be out for ps or xbox. The only game i thought was interesting was mario and metriod. All other games looked like they were for eight graders (No offense).moe85
Congrats!
You aren't a gamer. Â
i was looking about review and articles for both handhelds. Then i looked at the games. Clearly i liked psp games like metal gear ops, soco. Then i looked at graphics and clearly psp had better. Then i thought what is soo good about the ds. Anyway i really like games like mario kart and other mario games but i wanted a more mature gaming selection. SO i bought the psp. Will get it in the mail soon. Anyway i wanted to know why ppl think ds or psp is good.moe85
shooters, fighters, sports, and every other game that is usually on the MS and Sony consoles, the psp wins in a long shot. the psp's online is also better, which isn't saying much. but basiclly every game on the ds is fun to play and out there, it destroys in originality, and it's rpg's are better. overall your preference will decide which is betterÂ

Over 18 PSP under 18 DS sad sad fact. not to say someone over 18 cant enjoy a DS but you must be 100% sure you like those types of games and 2d games. PSP is underrated on this Forum but its really good. If you never played any PS2 games then and kinda new to gaming then a PSP would be an amazing System if you played PS2 games before you might have an idea but all the games are still new and feature differant storys and Weapons for the PSP so there is differance to the games.

A whole load of PSP titles coming. It continues to shine.
DS already ran out of first party titles.Â
i prefer ds because it is a game player and i see the psp as a giant media player which can be replaced by a creative zen which is better anyways. anyways, if you've ever heard of an r4, you can put that on your ds and play movies and music and also download free ds games. also there are very....."original" mods to say the least, using the touch screen and all

Pokemon came out yesterday.

(Thats MASSIVE ownage btw.)Â
Pokemon doesn't even use the thouchscreen that much. what does this show? that Even Nintendo is geting tired of the Touchscreen it's a good idea but it show be mandatory just for picking stuff but the D pad and buttons is all you use for most games. So the reason the games look bad is cause they want it on the DS but they don't use the Touchscreen right? that means there limiting the look and size of the game for no real reason....peacebringer

The total amount of time it would take to complete every song, on every playthrough actually clocks over an hour. And if you could beat Jumpin Jack Flash on Hard Rock, then I salute you.
But, you didn't. :3 You are just a desperate fanboy. Â
P.S. This game in no way would have worked on any other console. Â

By the way, keep thinking that Elite Beat can be done with buttons.
As for Pokemon D/P not using the touch screen, why bother changing the core gameplay to use the touch screen? The touch screen is best used on entirely new franchises that was made for that feature in mind. If anything that argument is just plain invalid, picky and silly. Still doesn't change the fact that Pokemon D/P is a great game.

The majority of people here will probably tell you that the games on the DS are better for handheld gaming, and that the PSP tries too hard to do too much and falls short in many ways. Plus, short battery life and long loading times can sometimes be a pain. The games on the DS are more unique and exclusive... things such as that, but it's all up to your personal preference. I have both and personally, I prefer the DS, while the PSP is my video mp3 player.ShakeNBake1491that pretty much sums it up.

there's a major difference in the type of handheld each one is
the psp is a portable console, bulky, crappy battery life, console type games.  Most of the time w/ the psp you need to be in a single place for a while often w/ a power supply handy. It's ok for road trips, or dragged along to a reletives house of an extended period of time. But you pretty much have to plan where you take it.
Â
The ds is much more suited to handheld play. you can pick it up put it down, most of the games you don't really need to pay intense attention to. So you can take it to the store, on the bus, just any where you got a couple free minutes.  Â
