What's going on in SW's with all the pc hate ??

I have seen 4 topics slamming the pc as a gaming platform today in the last 2 hours whats going on here ??

Now I know that there are trolls but there seems to be to much misinformation here about the pc vs console debate. Even when presented with facts still many show the pc no interest and downright disdain. The question is why ??

I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation so lets keep it clean and I know this is asking much but please use facts.

and I've seen tons of people bashing consoles and praising the PC.... this is SW, why are you surprised?

Most hermits in system wars pretty much spout the same fanboy drival as cows, lemmings, and sheep. Then the act like they're superior for some reason. They're the reason for all the pc hate.

I personally love PC's.... but people like this here are a big reason why people hate on PC's... because a large majority of their users are so high on themselves its sickening.

It's a vicious cycle on SW. Someone bashes PC and promotes consoles in defense. Someone bashes consoles and promotes PC in defense. Rinse and repeat. We don't know who started it, but all we know is that it will never end.

So its realisitc people vs. fanboys?

I tried to use facts and I just got back GS scores suck,I don't game online, I never heard of that game it must suck ect, pc gamers are stuck on a desktop ect

Even when I showed them how to build a $500 pc that plays crysis with benchmarks I got but it's gonna break down (rrod yellow light) yada yada

Like all systems, it's the fanboys that people have problems with. PC fanboys have had a chokehold here for a while now though.

Ok seems like there is just a dislike for hermits here at work. Most of the hermits I know are in the pc hardware section helping guys with pc issues and the others try to debate using facts not consoles suxor pc rulz !!

There was one guy that was rubbing it in but he was in the minority.

I like PC. In fact, I like all gaming systems. However, I have a problem with many PC users (and fanboys in general) who like to spew the same 'ol rhetoric on how their platform is superior to everyone elses because of resolution, AAA games, graphics, and so on and so forth. Same with all fanboys, really. I do not care about true 1080p, I do not care about what is AAA (the moment you use a collection of subjective opinions as collective fact is where I draw the line, to be frank). All I care about are the games. Yeah, this is System Wars. I should've known this by now, but I have no problem with PC, or any gaming system for that matter. Many PC players on SW are cool, but when other PC players say all console players aren't sophisticated because they play console and like to act like elitist snobs (the same with all fanboys, really. 360/PS3 fanboys are just as bad), the vocal minority ruins it.

Yes, console get these games but they are generally and obviously dumbed down eg Halo Wars is a dumbed down RTS which is done well enough, RPG elements are dumbed down eg demon souls, hybrids such as Borderlands and Mass Effect and even FPS compared to Battlefield, Arma and even Half Life. Then you get hard driving game in GTR, challengin RTS in Myth or Dungeon Keeper and hard RPGs such as Heroes of Might and Magic (bad example because there are strong elements of TBS here too and can't think of a good one besides Witcher, which i don't like much because its strong on real combat, so maybe Might and Magic series?) and even strong stealth/sneak em up such as Thief.Edit: Just thought of a superior *equip flame shield* hybrid. Deus Ex.

What I'm saying is, consoles have nothing on PC except convenience in every aspect and PC has nothing on console except customisation/freedom and strength in some genres in a way that PC gamers can, arguably, say they are true/real/insert elitist adjective gamers.

Because they just cant stand that PC Gaming can be the best if you add 2 cards.

I can agree somewhat, but there are lesser known console games out there which offer a variety of depth, such as KOEI's Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition series, which are overlooked because of the name "KOEI," but they offer plenty of stimulation for the intellect. I just think labeling all console gamers as unintelligent compared to their PC counterparts is ignorant. Maturity goes a long way, and there are many gamers on both sides who are open to both systems of play.

They are fanboys and just like all fanboys, they deny the achievements of games for the benefit of a hunk of plastic and metal, quick to point to consoles for ruining their favorite genres and lagging behind the PC in technology. Nevermind if some one thinks that Halo is superior to TF2 or likes MW2 more than Counterstrike- opinions on games are not allowed. They will proceed to call consolites inferior, belittle their intelligence and whatever else they can do to make the point that PC > consoles.

That doesn't make anyone a true gamer - and if it does I'm sure no one would dare want to be included or ever play with a TRUE gamer. That being said, they aren't all bad. Some offer level headed debate and concede ground to consoles when someone presents a particularly strong argument.

Of course, I too can argue for the games I love on console, both casual and more stimulating games. That's not to too PC has no casual games either such as World of Goo (a more casual thinking game i suppose). My point is more to point towards generalisations. Furthermore, you're totally right about genre I love on consoles such as platformers, which I'd say is a genre the PC is really lacking in, to a point where I feel its safe to say, that the console is more varied in its types of games compared to PC (this much be counted in percentages due to the massive library which the PC boasts and which consolites seem to be unaware of).

I agree with a lot of points. However, even if I play the occasional RTS or RPG, they're far from my favourite genres, especially simulators. It's no use limiting myself to a PC when most of my favourite genres are released on consoles. I do love Half-Life and Thief however.Theguy56

I quite enjoy many of PC's pioneering genres, such as RTS, TBS, and so on. Especially RTS. I want a better PC. :( This piece of crap I have now can barely run games made five years ago on optimal settings. I dislike integrated processors. Sooner or later, I shall have a competent gaming PC, but until then, I will continue to enjoy my games on consoles, which I grew up with.
