everyone seems to be talking about metal gear lately and i had a question. what content does the alternate versions of metal gear 1,2, and 3 add.

i guess im asking what bonus content does each one have and if it makes a big difference.

i never got around to play the alternate versions of the game and want to know what i have missed.

Metal gear twin snakes.

Metal gear 2 substance. (it had skateboards ive heard or something lol?)

metal gear 3 subsistence.

and why hasnt metal gear 4 had a similar update like the previous games? please dont spoil mgs4 as i am currently playing it right now =]

Metal Gear solid 2: 200+ extra missions, a new side story (without voice acting and cutscenes), and a skate minigame Metal Gear solid 3: the 2 original metal gear games from the 80s, a new camera option (third person view like the new MGS4), a new online multiplayer mode (i don't know if it is still active)

Twin Snake is basically MGS1 with MGS2 engine and even more over-the-top cutscenes (that the MGS elitists seem to hate, but I love them. To be honest, MGS had ridiculous action cutscenes to begin with). MGS3 originally had the camera angle like MGS2 (top view). In subsistence, it has a camera view like that of a normal third person action game. So it's not quite like MGS4 where it could just be a TPS when aimed down

In Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance you could play as Snake in the stand alone "Snake Tales" levels as well as play over 200 VR missions with both Snake and Raiden.

In Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence you could play both Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2L Solid Snake and they added a third person camera angle that was fully controlled by the player.

There was no second edition of Twin Snakes, but you could say it was a remake of Metal Gear Solid, adding many things MGS2 had, such as hold ups, hanging on ledges, FPS aiming, and over the top new cutscenes.

Metal Gear Solid 4 has yet to come out with a new version, but Trophy support is a wish among fans....
