I just don't like the $50/year for use of all their useless services. All I want is play games online and send messages. They should make a new line of membership with my idea starting @ $25/year. Everything disabled except multiplayer.

the number one reason why it is better then psn is because every game has online well the ps3 relies on devs to get the servers etc.
virtual tennis 3 is a huge example of this.Â

Correct me if im wrong but.with PSN Sony provides the servers for the devs games,or the devs can use their own. All 1st party exlusive games are on dedicated servers.
But it doesn't have the awesome avatar system where I can buy cool stuff with that fifty bucks I saved like virtual designer clothing and a MGS4 bedspread for my virtual room! man my virtual parties with my virtual friends are gonns RULE!

Live is better because the features are standard for the platform. For example resistence has voice while F1 does not. Also psn's match making is hit and miss. Psn is new so it will improve but untill sony makes voice standard with a friends list then what ever they do won't be enough. Also live has support for old games for example I can play toca 2 online even though toca 3 is out.

Live also is standard for the 360 games for example vf5 on the ps3 is offline but it's online for the 360. Live also has a huge marketplace if you wanna waste your money and movies/tv shows ect.
XBL can make you snacks while you game. It can do your laundry. It can clean your house for you. It can beat up the PSN and take its lunch money. It can find missing children on milk cartons.

That could have something to do with them not bundling the mic. Another fumble...
Since everyone has pointed out features amd functionality on why XBL is better I will throw this simple reason I feel it is a better service all around - Its profitable, its infrastructure is massive and scalable, its a mature platform. Bottom line it was well thought out. XBL Arcade is a perfect example of this (Leaderboards etc.).
PSN is a representation of one of the key things Sony has stumbled with this generation-- innovation. Most of their Next Generation "Ideas" are really just responses to popular features within the other two competitor systems. PSN was the response to how popular XBL became. If they had a better infrastructure, if they spent more time developing it, rolling out hundreds of servers to host hundreds of thousands of concurrent mulitplayer games, and it was better than XBL with more features do you honestly think they wouldn't charge you for it? "Free" is a good way of hiding "Bad".
These companies are sure not building these entertainment systems because they love us and just want us to be happy. They like our bank accounts.

I'm pretty sure you won't mind quitting your game to read all the message that you receive then.
