I mean, why is it a huge problem if the PS3 doesn't have it? What's its use?

This is the Internets you throw that logic out of this thread RIGHT NAO!!!You can't talk to friends IRL?

Ofcourse, but when it's late and we're both on the xbox we can still talk. You can't talk to friends IRL?

There really isnt anything great about it. Its just a feature that one console has while the other doesnt so it is a tool used in system wars to start arguements and for trolling.

I love how Cows say it doesn't matter, but once you have it, you realize how amazingly useful it is. Cows wish they had it, they just don't know it.MythomniacI'm sure 360 fans will claim it isn't that important if the PS3 does get it.
It's not OMG PWNEDworthy but it's an awesome feature. I like having the ability to play Alan Wake, and chat it up with my friends while they are playing a different game or maybe using netflix. The party system all together is awesome. jg4xchampSo the way it works is that you can talk to your friends no matter what game they're playing? I can see how that'd be fun for games like Bad Company 2 (as a poster above said), but I can't see how that'd be useful for most other games. I do see its use now though. I'm hoping I didn't come off as a fanboy or troll or whatever, I've just seen people talking about cross game chat quite a bit lately and was curious if it worked exactly as it sounds.

You're so wrong, it's a very nice feature to be able to talk with people when playing other games. Yes that is nice but that is the only great thing about it. 360 fans talk it up like its the greatest feature available when its only a small feature in a list of better features on Live. PS3 fans talk it up like its either crap and not worth it or its the only thing PSN needs to be on par with Live but that isnt true. This is, however, all my opinion and I expect others to disagree with me. I personally dont care whether or not it arrives on PSN because when I am playing a game on PSN I really dont want to talk to someone online when I am distracted by Orphan in FFXIII or Kessler in InFamous. It would be a nice addition to PSN thoughI use skype on the PC when I'm playing something like L4D or TF2, and I have friends playing LoL or something of the sort.
It's a really really good feature. I assume you only own a PS3, so you miss out on good features like this, but once you have it you'll be a bit happier with your PS3.

It's extremely useful for getting together with friends online to play something else, which is mainly what I end up using it for. It's come in handy anytime we're all online playing something different, usually something single player, and decide to play some multiplayer together. It's something that I use often enough that it would be annoying to be without it.
That is true. I just don't see myself using it as I don't like to talk to people when I'm playing a game. If I did then it's usually in with games that I'm already playing in that I would talk.Having the option of cross game chat is better than not having that option at all. It's better to not wanting to use it but have it, than wanting to use but not have it.

I don't like to either
But there are sometimes I find myself wanting to to maybe discuss a get-together, or something we're planning later that night. Being able to talk while also playing your game is a lot better than texting between deaths, or jamming a phone in your ear, and bending your neck all weird, and even then only being able to talk to one person at a time.
If you had the feature I'm sure you'd use it. Even if only once that's still better than if you never had it available to you in the first place.

If it's possible on your PS3, why tie up your line?
Don't think anyone or cow for that matter is denying that cross game chat is a good feature. But what we are saying is that its not worth $50 year for it. Yes if we get it with either psn or psn+ I'm sure we will love it. But I'm getting psn+ for its value and just so happens xgame chat is in there so be it. But I hope its part of psn for all to use.
Also I would like to say, that I do not want party chat in games. Xgame chat can be used in menu screens while online to be used as a feature but definitly not used to over ride the normal game channel for communication. That is definitly a game killer aswell as a community killer.

Most people have call waiting. Also why are you taking up the 360 to talk to your friends, thats rude. Just pick up the phone so someone else can actually play a game lol.while i agree it's not very important i have to say i use it almost every single time i'm on xbl.
typically it goes like this. "hey dude sup?.... nutttin much how is RDR? (or whatever) pretty cool actually.... how is AC2 .... lulz way better than i expected... wanna play something?... sure.... lets go crush on bf43(or whatever else we both happen to have)
is it a big deal? not really but it sure is handy to have.
I really don't get the point, I'd like to concentrate on the game I'm playing rather than engage in unrelated chatter. If I need to talk to someone it will be outside the game. I mean would you call your freinds during a movie?tomarlynOnce you use it constantly it's not hard at all, in fact, it helps in some ways too.

I must be a completely unsociable hermit then, I don't get calls all day long. I'd never have the time to play games either that way.[QUOTE="gago-gago"]So use your phone? so stop playing, put down controller, get phone, dail phone, friend has to stop playing and pick up phone, and neither of you can play while talking [unless you use speakerphone which can be awkward to hear]. While cross game chats isn't as 'omg teh best' as some sw users make out to be, its a nice feature infinitely more convenient than using a phoneHaving the option of cross game chat is better than not having that option at all. It's better to not wanting to use it but have it, than wanting to use but not have it.
