I've never owned any of these 'music emulation' games..and honestly when i first heard about this genre i laughed it off thinking it would never sell. But now when the next gen versions of these games are coming up..i see many people getting excited and all worked up for them. So simple question whats so great about playing with these toy guitars and drums..do they really make you feel like a rockstar or something? What's so special that makes them sell so much??
It's too hard to describe, so you just need to try it for yourself. Preferably with friends, or at a Party, and possibly after you've ingested some alcohol.
The interaction, socialization, and immersion are what make them fun. Singstar is no different than going out to a kaoroke night at the bar with your friends, except now you can drink with them and sing at home.
Because deep down everyone wants to be a rockstar. And because they are the only casual, party games that "hardcore" gamers are allowed to say they like.
