First off, I want to say I'm not trying to piss anyone off. It's just that this game looks... ok at best IMHO. I just don't get it though, where is this insane hype for this game coming from? I'm trying to look at it from all angles, I've watched the gameplay videos, and I still don't get it. And how does a game like this win best of E3? I personally still don't believe that it deserved a title as great as that, I'm sorry.

I'm a very open minded gamer now, far more open minded than I was last year. I love the big titles coming out for all three systems, but this little guy just has me more confused than hyped. And just nowI've just read that some guy just spent $600 on a PS3 with the #1 reason being Little Big Planet :|. There has to be something wrong with me because everyone seems to be head over heels for this game except me. Am I alone?

P.S: I don't hate the game and will be giving it a fair shot if a demo comes out or if I can get my hands on the final version. It's just I was wondering why the hype is through the roof.

It's a game where you compete against other players to collect the most... I forgot what you collect.

But it's got an awesome physics engine, and a level editor so you can make anything you want with this.

I see that you like Assassins Creed (from your avatar.) LittleBigPlanet allows users to create their own worlds, costumes, and enimies. So imagine making your own Altair sackman, and jumping rooftop to rooftop defeating enemies as you go.....yeah now that is cool. :D

Though it wasn't multiplayer, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 comes to mind.

I'm not saying I don't like the game, if there's a demo I'd be the first to want to see why people are up in arms about it. I give a lot of games at least a chance. It's just I'm confused as to why people are hyping it so ridiculously. I guess I'll find out later if a demo is released.

It should be great with friends, but I can see where you are coming from. I don't think it deserves as much attention as some people give it.

And when you have a physics engine like this, anything is possible. Imagine obstacle courses. Jumping on a skateboard, going downhill, jumping off at the right time to reach a ledge, otherwise you die. Things like this can make the game extremely interesting when put into the right hands.

i mean its not like you cant read on the previews that are out and watch the gameplay vids, then you see why people like the game and if you dont like it for those reasons then so be it, the point is its appealing to alot of people.

I just view Little Big Planet as a fun arcade game that you can play for short periods of time. It may be different, but from what I have gathered, I view it as that.

I know it will be released over PSN, but I am not sure on the pricing of it.

A little off topic, I tried to buy CSS (never played it but heard it was amazing) yesterday but the damn clerk wouldn't let me buy it because I didn't have a parent... >_>... I hate that law so passionately. You'd have to be a nutcase to begin with to do the stuff you see in games like GTA.

That would be cool except for the fact that you can not do any of that.Sure you can create loads of stuff, but it all has a certain look and fits into the world they created. Which is fine, but let's not tell the guy that you can create Assains's creed like level in the game or something.

It's a game that offers great variety of gameplay and great user-created content and is very fun when playing with friends, or at least, other people online via PlayStation Network. Just watch Phil Harrison playing it on GDC.

What? what kind of logic is that games are games when a game does something for the first time its regarded as an innovative game it doesnt matter if another platform makes something similar.

What kind of logic do you use exaclty to come up with posts like that?

[QUOTE="GARRYTH"][QUOTE="tmatte"]I totally agree. Everyones screaming "innovation", when in reality it isn't innovative at all.sadikovic

how is making your own level with thousands of differant things to choose from then putting it on the network for everyone to play then if you want you can play with them. name onther game that can do that with all those differant things not innovations.

CSS source, user made mods are basicaly what they are trying to achivie here in some sort of way and PC games have been doing it for a while now.

is this a pc game no it is a counsole game.

What? what kind of logic is that games are games when a game does something for the first time its regarded as an innovative game it doesnt matter if another platform makes something similar.

What kind of logic do you use exaclty to come up with posts like that?

That would mean GMOD innovative either

A wrong... CSS you make levels to play in the level. You can't creat dynamic objects in the game that can be moved or objects that are physics based. In little big planet you make the level to play with the level itself. CSS is an FPS, little big planet only works in 3rd person. Comparing those 2 games is like comparing halo wars to resistance...
