For me it's time limits on final levels. This almost ruins the game for me because all it does is make the last level frustrating, not challenging. Examples: Donkey Kong 64 and Metroid Prime 3.

not more lan capabilities = majority of ps3 games = epic fail

you=fanboy in every thread i go in=your opinion doesn't count for anything
y bump this thread if it was dead. and if it doesnt count then why respond???? and its true, why doesn't killzone have lan capability? thats just sad
Unskippable cutscenes.IronBass
This is a good thing, and a bad thing. Sometimes they work hard on cutscenes, so you shouldn't be able to skip them. On the other hand if they are unbearably long, and boring (30 minute Soma Bringer cutscenes that are ALL text...) then they should be skipped.
I later found out there was a setting to skip them in the options...
Same here.Recently? Lack of local multiplayer.
In general? Time limits.

Also if they focus on Online Multiplayer I hate the lack of a Compelling Singleplayer. I'm sick of the developers just putting Single Player in for the heck of it then were left with an Uninteresting Singleplayer and it is Short.
when water kills you, rechargable shields in FPS and falling 100 feet in games like halo 3 and surviving.
kobraka1
yeah i hate that one
Aim assist. This trend needs to die. NOW.
VideoGameRosado
it doesnt need to die, just needs to be heavily lessened. no aim assist with thumbsticks is the hardest **** on the planet
Um, for me, it's the lack of split-screen co-op or local multi player. Those are one in the same though no?

Not if you have skill.lol i tried it its effin insane. someone made a modded gametype in h3 with auto aim off, it took us a minute just to get one kill. it was ridiculous, maybe in games like cod where its like a couple shot kill but a game in halo wehre it takes multiple shots, impossible/boring

LOL. You just got used to it that's all. I mean, around 2004 is when this trend started to kick in, so if you played many shooters before then... it should be no problem. I played SOCOM 1 and 2 so much I just got used to the term "skill required" because those games didn't have aim assist. It'll make you a better gamer/player when you game without aim assist. ;)[QUOTE="tagyhag"]

You need to play more Halo, Gears and Left4Dead :P
On topic, the ability to jump into an already running online game like L4D and Bad Company. I hate mach making rooms.

I also think PS3 they have the option to turn off Aim Assist.Things done in games that annoy me:
-Super soldiers: Too many of them.
-"Chosen ones" (Same as super soldiers, except without steroids)
-first-person view.
-Bad or cliché'd stories.
-Main characters with little to no personality.
-tiled/repeating textures and bad texturing in general.
-Human or humanoid(but non-robot) character models that don't blink their eyes at all.
-Characters whose face looks too similar to that of a character in another game.
-Bad voice acting.
-Games that have are made to have a visual style that is supposed to look cool, but ends up falling on its face because the game artists tried too hard or didn't try hard enough to make it look more interesting.
-Alien characters that look too humanoid in terms of body structure.
-Symmetrical character models.
-Hypermasculine characters
-out-of-place profanity.

Oh yay....More shooters..:PWell, shooters (and racers) are the genres where we usually see split screen multiplayer ;)
For me, it's doors that automatically shut after a few seconds, even though they're obviously plain doors with no springs or motors.

Yea, I'm just getting tired of shooters. :P
I want more fighters/RPG's with local multiplayer (4 player)

I agree with 4 player fighting games (like SSB Brawl) but they most likelly wont need split screen. And i still prefer the RPGs with a good singleplayer campaign. well, but thats just me :)
yearly sequals to mediocre series at full priceshadow_hosiI agree they can just either make it 3/4ths the price or just add all the new stuff through Downloadable Content. Especially games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band they just add most of the stuff through Downloadable Content Rock Band isn't that bad with it but Guitar Hero is going over board atleast Rock Band does put the songs as downloadable Content they only make a Sequal for big changes. Lego Rockband is the only one that I don't think should be made.
Invisible triggers to stop enemies from constantly spawning.CoD:MW drove me crazy with that. Especially on the higher difficulty modes. For me it's time limits on final levels. Oh yea they can still make RPG's with both good singleplayer and multiplayer campaigns. (Like Baldur's Gate)The exact thing I hated about Uncharted. The illogic nature of the game. Spending all that time to situate the statues and entering a room that was supposed to be uninhabited for 400 years only to find enemy soldiers. Later on doing the Roman Numeral puzzle to enter another room that was supposed to be vacant for awhile to see enemy soldiers in front of me. Trying to escape from zombie like creatures and having dumb enemy soldiers attacking me while the creatures were attacking them. This game overall was totally lame...
loading during gameplay, i prefer when a game has only one long loading at the beginning and that's it
unskipable cutscenes
the lack of QTE in so many games ( i know most ppl hate it, but i love it)

Couldnt agree more.. I despise time limits and also not so fond of swimming portions on platformers or shooters...
i cant play forzza with my frends and its a racing game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SouljaBoyPride
dont u know souljaboy only good at gears. dayumm thas why
Quick Time events where you gotta mash buttons like crazy.. I swear if I didn't love God of War I would've killed Sony Santa myself.-_-
I mean sometimes, you can kill a bunch of ennemies but gotta mash a button to open a door? It gets really tiring by the end of the day..-_- I hate it even more when some of them are at random.=/.. Or spin the analog disc on the PSP..=/
Also I friggin HATE cliffhangers...
