What's the best game where you play a Police Officer?

Gamers, being toxic minded scum, prefer to play as criminals, inflicting as much pain on society as possible due to a repressed sense of injustice trusted upon them specifically.

When measured, very few games allow the player to play a police officer, actively trying to benefit society.

What is objectively, the best game where you play the character of an (uncorrupted) member of law enforcement?

A lot of the folks in R6 Siege are police, maybe that? And if we are considering R6 Siege, then a lot of the prior R6 games are very police-like (SWAT-like) in their breach-and-clear gameplay; a lot of the character backgrounds have law enforcement in them.

This Is The Police I heard is pretty fantastic; it's like a police management game. I bought it, still need to play it (technically it came in my Humble Bundle and I need to play it).

Some of the older SWAT games were nice. I enjoyed SWAT 4 as it was a lot like the traditional Rainbow 6 games before they went all action-gamey on us; tactical and planning, then BOOM lightning fast execution. Police Quest: SWAT was a neat game because of the live-action acting, real-life backgrounds, and attention to detail. PQ: SWAT 2 went the completely opposite direction and plays like a real-time tactics game a la XCOM, and was also a lot of fun.

Battlefield: Hardline was not a terrible game, but it was just not a legit Battlefield game. I still think it was a lot of fun, and playing as the cops was pretty fun. Loved "melee'ing" guys and slapping cuffs on them haha.

LA Noire is excellent in every way great detective game where you track down killers in different cases. You can upgrade and has a very good story would recommend.

Max Payne was undercover in original game. hunted by police and criminals both. framed for murder of his own family and best friend alex. yet still keep badass.

your loss. one of only few Great Third person shooter in market. MP1 is infact the best TPS ever. and 3 has best gameplay in any of third person game ever.

There's only a few correct answer. One of them is 'This is the Police'. You literally work as a police chief. Sending cops to investigate or whatever police work it does. You can also turn blind eye to police corruption. You can even work with criminals/Mafia.

The Getaway games. They're British, so it's good.

Police Quest is one of the greats. Love those games.

There are plenty of simulation games on Steam where you play as an anonymous cop. Also, GTA V modding allows for police. Same with Arma 3 and GTA V roleplay mods.

Eh, not sure i'd count that. I mean you play as a Police Officer, but not really doing police related things. More just a set-up for a zombie game.

No, just no. Those so called interrogations are broken and downright confusing at times. Not even with the latest update does it ever make sense. One answer per question no matter how logical it may be. Losing cases without being allowed to retry them. What an unsatisfying piece of trash of a game. And I gave it two shots, once on xbox 360 and once on switch.

Since True Crime is mentioned, add Sleeping Dogs to the list, as you play an undercover Hong Kong police officer. The game was originally going to be a True Crime game. For the most realistic police experience, the old Police Quest games, still available on GOG. The games required you to use police procedure to get through the scenarios you encountered. For open world games, I'd also suggest Lego city Undercover.

I wanted so badly to enjoy it. Interrogations are 80% of the game.

Virtua Cop 2 is the only right answer.
