Broken karma system, broken Rep system, quests are much more boring and dull, mostly just fetch quests or kill xx amount of this, and are just not nearly as fun as Fallout 3's quests, which were varied and unique. the locations are all full of uninteresting characters and are very dull, a lot of Mojave locations are just completely pointless, having a bed and some random junk qualifies as a location, glitches are even more frequent, the dialogue choice aren't as unique is in Fallout 3, they are jsut by-the-books generic responses, Fallout 3 music was better, etc.

It's not like it breaks the entire game. >quests are much more boring and dull Beyond The Beef? Come Fly With Me? That Lucky Old Sun? Crazy, Crazy, Crazy? There's plenty of good quests in New Vegas. They're just not ridiculously over the top and out of place like almost everything in Fallout 3. Interesting characters were RARE RARE RARE. I personally applaud Obsidian on their decision to make lots of nameless NPCs that can't be interacted with as opposed to having a few NPCs that have absolutely nothing to say or any personality at all. An excellent question. Cool **** is whatever stuff random Bethesda designers thought would be cool. To be honest, Fallout 2 was also sporadically guilty of this syndrome, but Fallout 3 takes it to a thoroughly different level. A town in the crater of an unexploded bomb? - Cool! A Peter Pan-esque settlement of invincible kids who expel people when they hit 16? - Awesome! A Lovecraftian Cthulhu-dedicated "Dunwich horror" location - Pretty awesome! A gang of blood-drinking vampire wannabies - Beyond awesome! A howling radio DJ keeping the bored populace of the, uh, wasteland informed of your progress - wait, let me check my awesometer... my god, it's over 9000!!! Overall, it would be easy to write a report worthy of an EU bureaucrat listing all the silly and stupid things Bethesda has shoehorned into Fallout 3. The biggest problem is not so much that it isn't Fallout, but rather that the setting doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Bethesda had an opportunity to craft a cohesive "living & breathing" world, but instead chose to build an amusement park with a bit of everything 'cool' they could think of.
