They even got his brother luigi involved lol

Sometimes I see my brother and I say hello to myself. It's hard to distinguish. They're the same person and have no seperating qualities. How can you tell the difference between ghost busting and jetpacking?

Honestly I never cared that we used the same character in every game.

Its basically just an avatar to me. Its not indicative to what the game is or how it will play aside from giving it that zany feel that is in most Nintendo games.

Sure he always has something to do with jumping, platforming and such, but that tends to be the fun part of Mario games or many other games, so I don't see the issue.

[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"] How does one know this though? Does it say it on the box? They should have better marketing rather than just placing Mario on the box because when I see Mario on the box I think "oh it's just Mario Genre", not "oh cool a racing game or oh cool a RPG."Minishdriveby

The words right on the box tell you they're different games with the same character. Mario Kart is a karting game starring Mario, and Mario Tennis is a tennis game starring Mario. Different game, same character.

Hmmm... I think someone is lying here. Even if what you said was true. It's horrible marketing. They should also market to the illiterate. If some cannot read that it's a racing game how are they suppose to know that with a picture of Mario on the box?

All those people need to do is ask mommy to read it for them I'm sorry but if you can't tell the difference between Mario games than you have much bigger problems than picking out video games

What's the difference between:

3D Mario Platformer
2D Mario Platformer
Mario Racing Games
Mario Fighting Games
Mario Sport titles
Mario Adventure Games
Mario RPG
Mario Minigame Collections
Mario Puzzle games

You may have guessed it already.

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE THEY'RE ALL THE SAME GAME! IT'S ALWAYS MARIO MARIO MARIO.

Why doesn't nintendo be creative. I'm tired of playing the same game over and over again. I cannot tell the difference between these games.

Sometimes I get the actions of brushing my teeth and shaving confused too, and this is the problem people have with Nintendo, people would love to buy a racing game but it's so hard to distinguish whether or not your racing or golfing because both actions are being done by the same character.

GET RID OF THE MARIO GENRE NINTENDO AND MAKE NEW GENRES WITH NEW CHARACTERS!

I know right. It's like why the f*ck can I only play as Mario in these games? Doesn't he have any friends? I usually take friends with me during social events. Sometimes I meet new friends and they join in.

Oh please, this is just massive SONY fanboy butthurt on full display.

You're just peaved that SONY doesn't have the same tye of exclusives that microsoft and nintendo have. Perhaps SONY should focus more of its development resources on building a popular franchise instead of flooding the market with cheap, mediocre crap.

Because it is repetitive to always play as the same character who has no personality. Would you want Soap MacTavish in every game you played?

I believe he thinks it gets under my skin or something. He also talks about stocks all the time and how much money in the bank each company has. That is his little posting gimmick I suppose.

Your username does fit pretty well with your argument. Listen here boy, to some people (a LOT actually), sales don't mean shit. Why would I care about Nintendo selling tens of millions of mario? I just hate his fvcking face and annoying voice appearing in way too many games. I actually like his pixelated design and a mute back in SMB way better.

Why do cows think sales, revenues, profits and liquid assets don't matter?

A financially healthy companies means that your investments into their ecosystems won't go poof any time soon. However, a financially insolvent company like SONY may go down any year now. All the $$$ you spent on PSN, online multiplayer on the playstation, and almost everything else having to do with SONY will go down with it.

It's your choice, cows. Make the right choice. Pay for multiplayer. Pay for COD, Gears, Forza and Halo. Pay for the 360 and 720. Give microsoft your money.

It is horrible marketing. Nintendo should also include Braille on the boxes so that blind gamers also know that they're buying a carbon copy Mario genre game.

Thread about Mario. Talks about Sony.

Perhaps you missed my ultimate point.

Nintendo is milking Mario because it's a proven strategy. SONY's strategy of pumping 3423423423 mediocre games every year is wasting their financial resources, something that they don't have enough of in their current state.

Why fix something that isn't broken?
