i.e. the minimum required score for it not be a flop

first there has to be enough hype for it and as of now relatively to other games and there isn't much tbh, i don't see this car shooters genre interesting to many.i feel the game is going to flop really hard, like calling all cars. Jaffe seems a capable designer (from his work on GoW1), i don't understand why he loves this genre.
I never got into this series, but I hope that it gets some success if it indeed ends up being a good game. Personally, I'd rather get Starhawk as heavy multiplayer game (which will have 4 player split screen!) rather than Twisted Metal, which is also said to have 4 player split screen..
TBH, I'm cautiously optimistic on this one. The fact that it was a PSN game they expanded into a retail title set off some warning bells for me.
David Jaffe never fails. He's like the Superman of game devs. There isn't one yet.

Exactly. This looks like a 7.5 game. 8.0 is pushing it. It also has over 7 months of polish left and the latest trailer already looks different than the E3 preview. Come on people!
I think car combat is sort of over. There's still the people who remember TM fondly, and they'll probably enjoy it, but don't expect much love from critics.
Probably AAAA. It's Twisted Metal, come on.Master_ShakeXXXAnd that will bury us, and you'll be quoted up the whazoo when it dosn't make AAAA XD I'll say 8.5
Much better.Thanks.
I agree. The thing with me is I remember TM fondly, but this new game really doesn't look all that great.I played the hell out of the first 2 Twisted Metal games but when I saw the reveal at E3 it did nothing for me.I could be wrong but it looks like a game that going to be completely ruined by cheaters and unbalanced combat.F*** that s***, if you aren't f***ing cursing like a crazy son of a b*** in a thread about Twisted F***ing Metal, you're f***ing doing it wrong and you need to get the f*** off my goddamn Internet.
Better? :P
This thread needs more cursing.

But Twisted Metal is a freakin fantastic series, the oldest for the playstation brand actually. But I really think Dave's direction with the game has pushed the hype way down. I mean it honestly looks like a typical FPS now...with cars. AND NO CHARACTERS!!??? I wish an upgraded sequel to Twisted Metal black was made. Thats all the fans wanted.... Theres no more Spectre, or Mr.Grimm, Crazy 8, Taxi...ect its all the same now. Very lame indeed.
I'm hyping it 8.5-9.0, it will at least get high ratings for multiplayer. Kind of worried about the single player though, the cheesiness of the cutscenes might bring it down since gamespot has higher story standards lol

A direct sequel to Black would make me deliriously happy, but it's not going to happen, unfortunately.
Wait what? Twisted metal? A psn game? I think i get what you mean...
Exactly. This looks like a 7.5 game. 8.0 is pushing it.

When I got my ps2 at launch, Tekken:Tag, Ico and Twisted Metal were some of the first games I bought. Lan parties witht that game were awesome...ahh good times. I also really liked how dark the game was. I wish they would just make a sequel. Please Log In to post.
