Neither, it's the game that GameSpot feels was the best of the year.

Like everyone is saying, GOTY is the award the Gamespot staff gives to the game they consider to be the best one of that year.

2006 GOTY --- Gears of War (Xbox360)

2005 GOTY --- Resident Evil 4 (GC)

2004 GOTY --- World of Warcraft (PC)

2003 GOTY --- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC)

Hmmm that is true, well Im just alittle pissed cause it feels like they erased any chance of there being a Wii game for GOTY, Metroid prime 3 definatly deserves a spot as a candadate for that spot and I believe that it should be a runner up to Bioshock rather than halo 3 taking that spot. I dont know but when I read the reviews I feel that that mark it down heavily for stupid stuff that never bothered me when I played yet they dont mark down Halo 3 for some major issues too.

well of course GOTY is just a gamestop oppinion and no matter what they say its always is alittle biased considering its decided by a group of people. GOTY doesnt mean your a looser if you dont own this game of course.
