I know everyones got atleast 1 game they've played that makes them want to smash it to microscopic pieces :P
Mine is Ninja Gaiden II (360)
This game can be flat out unfair at times...

- Ninja Gaiden 2 on Path of the Master Ninja. With sheer perseverance and arrogance, I somehow beat it.
- Battletoads
- Super Ghosts and Goblins
- Shinobi (PS2) on Super
Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on Hard Mode would definitely be harder than anything else I could think of. I don't even want to imagine what Maniac Mode is like for those Japanese fellows. >____>

Well, you have to remember what the fanbase is like in Japan. Most of them can probably beat it blindfolded.
Fire Emblem fans won't ever be happy until there is a game that they absolutely cannot beat.Well, you have to remember what the fanbase is like in Japan. Most of them can probably beat it blindfolded.

Beatmania IIDX. I can get about halfway up the difficulty scale with little trouble... but once it hits that wall around 9-10 Hyper difficulty, it just makes a jump I can't carry myself over. And they've made a new difficulty with the release of StyIe 15 Troopers... called "Black."

"Another," the original "highest" difficulty is on the left of the Autoplay, the new one is on the right...

Me too. Just one of the genres I excell in I guess. As the tc said in the op Ninja Gaiden two frustrated the heck out of me, got all the way to the multiple bosses at the end but couldn't get past it. Majora's Mask was pleasantly challenging, and Ocarina of Time Master Quest was very hard. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes was brutal as well.
Have any of you played a bullet hell game? (Yes, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to this stuff, but seriously, nothing in America really compares)
Games like
Mushihimesama/Mushihimesama Futari
Ikaruga
Perfect Cherry Blossom
Imperishable Night (Same series as PCB)
DoDonPachi Daioujyo
Those are just off the top of my head
Just a couple ground rules
1) No shields
2) A single bullet will kill you
3) Small hitbox
You know, stuff like

Sometimes I wonder if it's games like these that are to blame for making shoot-em-ups more and more of a niche genre. I'd never so much as touch a game like Mushihimesama Futari, but then who doesn't love Ikaruga or Dodonpachi? :P

Actually, you're probably right about that. Ikaruga is the perfect difficulty though. If you put some time into it, you can probably beat it. (with 8 continues)Barbie's horse adventrue (ps2), trust me, i could'nt look at the screen for even 13 secs per 4 seconds between them >.
Dragon's Lair for the NES. LitchieI forgot all about that one.
I watched the AVGN review of it than tried the game for myself, and I couldn't get past the first screen.
Condemned Bloodshot was the hardest game I have ever played. It was tremendously difficult to even get past the few levels that I did get through. I was totally spooked, to the point that I traded it in. I would inch my way thru the levels...my nerves were shot playing it.

Imagine how I felt as a 5 year old playing it. It's the only game that have made me take it out of the console and throw it in the wall. I don't think I've ever been that pissed because of a game ever.Forgot about F-Zero GX. Incredible game, but incredibly hard. Story mode was ridiculous, I beat every cup on every difficulty except Master. It's just impossible.if I were to make a list of the top 100, 75% would be from the NES era and the other 25% from the SNES era. The hardest modern game for me... F-Zero GX. I have not unlocked the Arcade courses ;_;
