What's the next game you plan on getting?

I'll be picking up Lost Judgement this Friday! Gamestop called today to let me know my preorder will be ready 😎 I'll be getting a nice steelbook with that too. In addition to Lost Judgement, will probably get in on Death Stranding definitive edition which also comes out on the same day! It's only $10 for current Death Stranding owners.

How about you, SW? What's the next game you plan on getting?

Possibly diablo2 remake because i am desperate to play something, anything. Other than Sekiro, i didn't give a cent to a game with an Activision logo on the box in over 10 years, so this will be very painful.

My year is planned out. Metroid Dread next month, Shin Megami Tensei V in November, Halo Infinite in December.

Either FarCry 6 or Metroid Dread when they come out next month. It could be both.

new game? Far Cry 6. I think I will make myself wait a month or so though for when it drops to half price as it always seems to do

After my purchase of Kena Bridge of Spirit, my next purchase is just going to be Melty Blood: Type Lumina on Steam that's releasing September 30th, and wait for my pre-order of Metroid Dread to be delivered by Amazon. I decided to get Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game on Steam after all. That last trailer for it boosted my excitement. As for games like Far Cry 6, I'll play it through Ubisoft+ since I'm gonna use it to play Riders Republic anyway.

My poor wallet just can't keep with the demands. But that's gaming life for ya🤷‍♂️

@davillain-: I will say, the Galaxy of the Guardians trailer from the last Playstation showcase raised my interest. It looked a lot smoother and nicer.

For the kids... Hot Wheels. They won't get to play it till Christmas though.

D2 Resurrected I bought it on PC but I want it on switch I think more. I read it has cross progression so can link PC with Switch and play same character than I'll get both and play mainly switch.

Ended up picking up the mass effect collection for $50 so nothing for a bit, will be looking forward to Halo, AOE, and Forza on gamepass tho.

I might get eastward on the switch for the wife. She's a big fan of Stardew and I hear it's a pretty good game by chuckle fish.

Elden Ring.

Everything else sucks now. I hate feeling burnt out.

The most set in stone I am about getting anything is the Fatal Frame game releasing in a few weeks. There's other toss-ups between now and then I might get, like Far Cry 6, Toy Soldiers HD, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Already pre-ordered BF2042 on my XSX and really excited for Halo Infinite,Forza Horizon 5,B4B,and NHL 22. Scorn looks interesting as well as AOE. 2021 turned out to be great for gaming.

I know I could just replay Far Cry 3 and have broadly the same experience but... I'm actually excited for Far Cry 6.

Some reservations though: like Far Cry new dawn style grinding returning. But yeah overall: this'll be a great open world game with lots of depth and variation like the greats.

Supposedly, it is supposed to have the biggest Far Cry map yet so it has that going for it. If not the biggest, it is still a big map.

I liked Far Cry 2, 3, 4, and 5 so it has a good record with me.

I’m optimistic about Far Cry 6 but we’ll see.

Metroid Dread comes out in two weeks, but there's a good chance I'll buy something else in the meantime.

How is bigger map supposed to be a positive when its an Ubisoft game? Instead of your map being filled with 343294289 chores, you will have 23498234785293434 chores and camps to take over. This developer is unable to create interesting open world content. Them going bigger and larger means nothing else but an astronomical amount of copy pasted content. You will be saving generic npc's with 1-2 lines of dialgue from 200 camps. Enjoy your stay.

Diablo 2: Resurrected just pre-ordered it.

Next game I'm going to part cash for will be Elden Ring. Until then game pass has me covered.

I played the original D2 for 11,200 hours... Don't know if I want to go through that rabbit hole again.

Far Cry 5 was an interesting open world imo. It is basically the open world quality GTA 5 should have been. I didn’t mind the chores in FC5 and I thought a few of the missions were unique.

If the graphics are fantastic and I heard people say they’re good and the controls are well done I, people, might be surprised how good It is.

A larger map means there is more to explore and I like to explore and wander around.

This is the kind of people that say that the game is good. Paid shills. You will see a f*ckton of these, because Ubisoft needs them to sell this regurgitated garbage of theirs.

The environment seems to be well done graphically, but character animations and facial expressions are straight up from Oblivion/Slyrim. The gunplay itself also seems solid, but when your main goal is to... what goal? there are no goals. All you do is run around the map and free the same looking camps with the same enemies inside them. I don't know, nor understand how this is something that can be enjoyed by anybody. If we were in like 2007, and this kind of shallow open world games were still "fresh", i'd understand, and most likely play it myself. But its been almost 20 years of the same shit.

I have Insurgency Sandstorm pre-ordered and ready to install so I can get playing when it drops on the 29th of this month.

I might grab Diablo 2 for my kids and I to play through while we wait for all the shooters that are releasing soon.

I just bought ME: Legendary the other day for $37 on a Steam Sale so I don't know, maybe Age o Empires and Dying Light 2 if they have a smooth release. Everything else I would consider "day one" is years away from release so I'm kind of lukewarm on the current offerings.

I just bought Crusin' Blast, it's an extremely fun arcade racer (Like from a 90's arcade) and am looking forward to Hot Wheels unleashed.

mass effect legendary edition, sekiro and returnal all on my list but they're not dropping in price over here in the uk like they used to. few years ago they'd release for £40-45 and drop to around £30 within twelve months. apart from an odd day one here and there i'd wait to pick them up a bit cheaper.

but now, sekiro two and a half years old and £50 ($68). and new games jumped right up in price. returnal £60-£70. mass effect £50+. steep. i just shelled out £60 on deathloop and regret it. seems like retailers aren't budging on price, but i can play the long game too.

Open world dev's really need to knock out the whole "bigger is better" design approach. In most ways I think that's just lazy game design. It's not tough to just add more space to pad out a game, but it takes immense skill to take what space you do have and what you can put into it.

Open world games should focus more on compact design given the limited space, rather than the other way around. The best open world games aren't the massive scaled ones.

Lost Judgment should be arriving today or tomorrow. I am excited about it.

Tetris Effect. I'm waiting on the Switch version because I want to see which version is cheaper. If the PS4 version is cheaper, I'll get it. On the other hand, if the Switch version is cheaper, I'll get it.

Battlefield 2042 is the only thing on my radar right now.

Not really sure. i still have a hell of a backlog so i'm playing that on and off. currently playing Wyldrmyth a bit which has been interesting so far. i cant think of anything currently announced that i want absolutely day one though.

i'm waiting on a PC upgrade before getting cyberpunk (and may as well for the PS5/XSX upgrades to feed back to the PC version too if applicable). my current PC could take a decent stab at it but i want to play it close to its best.

Xenoblade 3/X2 would be a day one buy. fingers crossed for the direct this evening. Squadron 42 also but fat chance there :P.
