I was browsing the games today and happen to notice the 360 had the three rings of death flashing. I had to laugh. Whats the odds of this?

Wasn't it 54%? I seriously do not remember.tagyhag
That was based on a poll. But I don't think we really have any accurate percentage. I'd estimate it to be at least 50% judging from the "fact" that the people who haven't experienced RROD seem to be a minority.

ok that link is a little bit old but they recently confirmed a 24% failure rate while the ps3 had a 10-14&% and the Wii 2-4%. Also the new Jasper boards don't fail 24% of the time.
Yeah but the ps3 is trapped in a plastic case :D no problems there
I lso looked up the RROD at GDC
Display 360's RROD fast because normally they are not kept in well ventilated areas and they are used all day. Also, idk about your Walmarts, but the type of people that go to the closest Wallmart by my are horrible with the video game displays. I have seen a white 360 control that was practically completely brown from dirty hands, the top of analog sticks completely rubbed/burnt off, the Xbox guide button missing, and the 360 itself had RROD. I have also seen PS3's on display with the Playstation symbol ripped off (the one above the disc slot), controllers with the actual analog sticks snapped off completely, and the L2 and R2 buttons missing. Long story short, display systems are prone to dying faster due to the way they are treated (where they are kept, how they are cared for, and how people use them).
Hehe, I have actually seen this happen twice at two different shops, they should have put up a sign that says "this could happen to you". I guess it just tells you the truth about the X360, and how badly put together the hardware is.

That stat is good since they admit that most people don't even play their Wii's. Thats why the Wii fail rate is low, cause its never turned on. Yet 360 and PS3 are neck and neck in gamer hours.Ah my store doesn't really take care of their displays. Yet 360 and PS3 are neck and neck in gamer hours. And the Wii also has very simple hardware compared to the other two. But both Nintendo and Sony are alot better than MS at making good hardware. This is no news:PUh, the odds are very high. Because in shops the 360 usually is in a closed space with no airflow whatsoever. It doesn't take a genius to know that a console will break then.I was browsing the games today and happen to notice the 360 had the three rings of death flashing. I had to laugh. Yep, its Wal-Mart, people play the games until their parents rip them from the store.
WiiMan21
and aren't the systems inclosed in very non-ventalative cases?
