First, I want to clarify that this comes from an owner of only the PS2 and PSX in the last 3 generations, including this new one. I couldn't care less about your "fakeboy" or "sure you are" (about what I own) comments, so save them to yourself.

Now, I'd like to talk about what the heck is wrong with support for multiplats. Check out TMNT:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/tmntthemovie/index.html?q=teenage%20mutant
Definitely not the most hyped game, but not a "neglected" game either. Now look at its Vital Stats (from the PC version):

TMNT
Publisher: Ubisoft
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal Release Date: Mar 20, 2007 (more) Also On: PS2 | PSP | X360 | GC | DS | GBA | WII
Now, can someone please tell me why Ubisoft which obviously didn't ban sony, or whatever, making the game for the PS2 and PSP but not PS3, while making it for almost literally every other current console (the Xbox did die, so yeah)?

This saddens me because I have no real idea why it happens (although I imagine it might have something to do with the difficulty of developing games for the PS3), and I'm afraid it will (have?) happend for more games. Heck, Oblivion isn't the most related comparison, but it still is pretty close (considering it didn't even release on the launch day, which was months after the initial release of Oblivion).

Clear this subject for me, please.

Maybe just not a big enough install base to bother yet?

Aren't the games what brings people to try the system, and not the other way around?

It's not on the PS3 for the same reason it's not on the Xbox.
Not enough reason to.

... But the PS3 is a system that is still on the rise (or at least trying to be), and Xbox is dead. Of course a system can't succeed without games, that's why devs make games for new systems.

....... Before I comment on that, I have to ask. Where does "COULD care less" come from? It means your level of careness can actually be the highest. That phrase just doesn't say anything. Now, to actually reply, so what if you couldn't care less? I'm talking generally, and I made it quite clear. I even gave a more common game, Oblivion, but you had to do the fanboyish thing and go pro-Sony in an argument that isn't even against Sony. Go on, add another "*insert Sony product here* OWNER" to your sig and come back when you have something more fruitful to say.

There's no reason for a PS3 version, if the PS3 users want to play it they buy the PS2 version.

They made that decision because it would have cost them more money to make a version for the PS3 and PS2, but they don't.

If the Xbox was still around and the 360 was more b/c with it, you'd see an Xbox version.

Don't the 360 and Wii have backwards compatibility? Also note both the GC and the Wii have their own versions.

The Wii does, but the Gamcube isn't popular anymore. And there's merit for a seperate Wii version because it has different controls.

The 360 is not b/c with all Xbox games. M$ must create the emulation and release an update to allow the 360 to play the Xbox game. First they wouldn't do it for a bargain bin game like TMNT, and second they wouldn't do it period because they don't support the Xbox anymore.

With the PS3/PS2 situation, you have the PS2 which is still very popular. And the PS3 is b/c with all PS2 games. AND the controls are the same through the PS2 and PS3 version

Got all of that?

Got it, but the GC being the least popular, why make a version for it specifically?

Because there are still people who own GCN's but not a Wii.
As I said, if the Xbox was still a supported console (which it is not), there would be an Xbox version.

This is Ubisoft trying to spend as little money as possible.

Then why not make a version for the PSX? Nah, just kidding. xD Still, any word of the PS3's game development "ease"? Going back to Oblivion, it's a game that people are bound to buy, yet it wasn't released on launch day and STILL not released today, even though it's quite old. What's up with that?

WHAT'S UP WITH ALL THE GOD DAMN QUESTIONS?

I don't know, maybe Bethesda decided to spend time to make sure the PS3 version wasn't just a crappy port so that PS3 fans can have a good game.

What's up with the temper? :O I'm sure Betheasda could do it. :p I'll just feed you up until you explode, and wait for the next person to respond about the ease of development. :o

Don't really know. Maybe it's to do with middleware compatibility between those platforms. The PS3 itself is more difficult to work with (or so i've heard) and maybe it would have took more effort (time and money) to bring it to the PS3. Another reason could be that the PS2 version itself is enough for PS3 owners (B/C).

Hm. I guess that will hurt Sony even further in the future. Other games I found to have PS2 & Next gen ports but no PS3 ports are UEFA CL 2006-2007, Samurai Warriors 2 Empires, BT2, and that's only from a brief look in the main PS2 page. I shall leave you to ponder on this while I sleep. Good night.

PS3 is hard to program for and it's selling bad, no reason to spend on making games for it.

it's probably sony saying they don't need any more bad games on the ps3, because honestly, they don't. if i had it my way there would not be any release of the game, or only handheld versions because i know it won't get over a 7 here on GS.
