Whenever anyone, and I do mean ANYONE, says they don't like Nintendo, they are accused of playing nothing but Call of Duty.

When some people mock stuff like Wii Fit or Wii Music for being too "casual", Ninty fans try and defend it by saying Call Of Duty is "casual" as well. It's basically two sets of people with two different ideas of the word "casual"'s meaning, arguing for no reason :P

From what I've seen, casual bro gamers falsely think they're hardcore when they play CoD and Nintendo games are casual just because they look "kiddie".

COD/Halo players consider themselves hardcore gamers because they play those two shooters, so they make fun of the Wii because it's apparently "kiddish" and "casual" so ninty owners fire back that COD is quite casual.

I've never heard of a Nintendo vs. Call of Duty thing. Call of Duty games are on Nintendo systems, anyway.

people seem to think FPS like CoD are hardcore, simply because of the competitive nature of the multilayer

while in fact any multiplayer aspect of any game can be seen the same way. As long they have any features that you can compete in.

If your able to get pass the first level of a game without using the games/genres main mechanic, its pretty much the most casual thing you can do with the genre. So call of duty is in fact the most casual game you can get, within that genre.

-

i can totally see why someone would use that as an argument.

EDIT:

i can also see why someone would make a Nintendo vs CoD type of argument within this.

Simply because many people belive Nintendo has pretty much become the definition of the words "casual" and "kiddie"

While the FPS genre has become the most mainstream thing in gaming, and call of duty has the biggest user base. They tend to call themselves "hardcore" or "true gamers"

Which makes the whole argument stupid.
