What's With The Sony Bashing?

Ok, to start off I understand how other platform fans have their beefs and start their little arguments nit-picking at stupid stuff but SONY is really doing it's thing these days.

I've had the PS3 since the FIRST day it released, and I love it. Now people debated Blu-Ray would fail, SIXAXIS would fail, PSN would fail, Exclusives would fail (Killzone, Resistance for example). And now that I've had the PS3 for a while, i must say everything about it just says QUALITY. Nothing is half-a$$ed, no corners are cut and everything is worth every penny.

The Blu-Ray is amazing, quality is top-notch. The Functions of MP3, Video, and Photo are convenient and a viable option even though they aren't my main uses of the PS3. It's great to be able to turn off the TV and use my MP3 to come through the speakers and have that great sound system bumping my favorite songs. But thats besides the point. About the games...

The PSN is a free service offering Blu-Ray quality movie rentals and downloads at a fair price, PSN Network Exclusive games like Flow, FLOWer, EchoChrome, PixelJunk, The Last Guy, Crash Commando, Calling All Cars, Super Stardust, and MUCH more. Also, there are the PS1 CLASSIC games which are a fun, retro change of pace for me from time to time. Then, there's HOME which I personally barely ever use but my brother and others who don't know many people on the PSN are able to connect, make friends, create parties and jump into their favorite games organizing squads and strategies. It's just a lot better to roll into a multi-player with people you know already and who got your back in a game like Call Of Duty or Killzone or are challenging opponents for a match in Street Fighter.

The exclusive titles? But, Teh Games?! Well... In my personal collection I've had the priveledge of playing:

KILLZONE 2 (AMAZING GAME, JUST GOT IT FRIDAY AND OMG INSANE)

People hate what they don't/can't have. Same reason why there is hate towards almost any system.

It's just fanboys being fanboys that's all. Lems will never admit they're getting ripped off from X Box Live and Cows will never admit that they lose exclusives like every day. I don't see any more bashing , I think haters and doubters has been thoroughly humbled by the onslaught of terrific games for the ps3 that they were hoping would flop. Instead of being bitter and jealous , they are hoping for a pricecut or are figuring out ways to get a ps3 this year. Beg your parents for a bithday gift , graduation gift , holiday gift , or save your money or sell some things .......... do what you have to do.

Most of the arugments stem from "those days" when the PS3 wasn't doing it's thing vs. "these days". It's kind of like the boy who cried wolf...PS3 fans wouldn't admit to any shortcomings back then, so skepticism persists when they say things now.

I've had the PS3 since the FIRST day it released, and I love it. Now people debated Blu-Ray would fail(while it has beaten out HDDVD, it hasn't taken the world by storm like its proponents suggested it would.), SIXAXIS would fail(Sixaxis HAS failed...it has almost no meaningful uses in any games), PSN would fail(I don't think anybody said it would "fail", merely that it wouldn't be as good as XBL and that sony didn't have the expertise to make it as good. The general consensus would show that to be exactly how its happened. Even PS3 fans typically add the disclaimer "for a free service" to the end of any argument they make., Exclusives would fail Lair, and Haze, and others are examples of ones that failed that were hyped by cows. It goes both ways. (Killzone(It did get a good score, but even unfair a 9.0 isn't enough for the hype this title had...cows hyped this title to a level that was impossible to live up to IMO., Resistance Nobody said it would fail, they said it would be good but not great. An 8.5 is about where most expected for example). And now that I've had the PS3 for a while, i must say everything about it just says QUALITY. hardware wise? I'd agree, but it STILL is getting features that the competition had in 2005. Nothing is half-a$$ed, no corners are cut and everything is worth every penny. After two years of updating they finally have most of the features the competition has, so while it may not appear half a$$ed now, it certainly had that appearance from a functionality perspective(it's ingame XMB still leaves a lot to be desired IMO).

In a bubble I'd say you are right, but with another system that does nearly everything the PS3 does for a LOT less money it changes things a bit. Just like you said other systems aen't blowing SONY out of the water, but for the price premium the PS3 SHOULD be blowing them out of the water and it doesn't.

Hey Nintendo went from first to last to first again, so will Sony and second of all, if none of the games he listed interest you, what games do? because there is not a big differences between ps3 games and 360 games, if anything the ps3 has more variety. but if you have a wii then i can understand why none of those games interest you because wii games are a lot different.

The recent wave of Sony bashing has come as an act of damage control. The fallout of the KZ2 review has had lingering effects.

Not exclusive, I can play through the exact same story with Ninja Gaiden Black. The main game is the same.

Not sure what the hate is about. I have a PS3 only, but I play 360 pretty frequently because a bunch of my friends have them. They are both pretty much the same except PS3 is more money because of BR and wireless. However, I always see posts about PS360 owners having the PS3 "collect dust." I can't possibly believe people who say that not a single exclusive interests them on PS3. How could you love Halo 3 and not have at least some interest in Resistance or Killzone? How can Braid be so amazing, but Little Big Planet be so boring?

Some of the hate is also conflicting. Its silly to hate on PS3 for the extra $100 it costs and then defend paying $50 annually for Live. I also find it strange when fanboys declare that Blu Ray doesn't look that much better than DVD and then obsess over a tiny graphical difference between a multi-plat. If you think the PS3 is too expensive, then you should find Live too expensive. If you obsess over AA or textures, then you should think that BR is the ish. I think Live is way overpriced, but I also found it extremely difficult to fork over $500 for a game system. I don't have an HDTV, so I don't care about Blu Ray or a missing pixel on Assassin's Creed.

I don't really have time for two systems. I've enjoyed my time with PSX and PS2 and have 100 games between the two systems. PS2 died so I got a BC PS3. It was a pretty easy decision for me. I don't hate 360 though. Gears, NG2 and Halo 3 were all wonderful recent gaming experiences. If the PS2 had not died I might have a 360 now because all of my friends have one. In turn, my friends love coming over and playing some SOCOM or Uncharted. No haters, just gamers.

System wars has its place, because it keeps these ridiculous arguments out of the respective PS3 and 360 boards.

I dont bash the PS3. I chose the xbox360 over the ps3 because at the time it had many good exclusives that the ps3 didnt have. You can call me a 360 fanboy if u wish since its my fav console (only rivals ps2 and n64 imo) and i think that everyone can now agree that the ps3 has "good games" (in the end its all about your opinion). Even still i really dont like the exclusives as much as the 360 does (God of war 3 and MGS4 and maybe KZ2 but thats about it) And yes paying 50 bucks a year is tedious but i have a part time job so it doesnt affect me. I might even buy a ps3 just for god of war 3......

On this website and Metacritic the 360 has a better ranked library then the PS3. That that is the problem with the PS3. You are paying twice what the 360 costs and getting the inferior game library. Also not only is the 360 better ranked game wise but it is also far larger and more diverse.rybe1025

Actually the PS3 is the better deal the 360 used to be the better system in 2005 but now it's just a has been with a whole bunch of mindless shooters halo, left4dead, perfectdark, gears of war 1 and 2, PS3 has got the games with diversity Metal Gear Solid 4 (Game of the Year Stealth) Little Big Planet (GOTY Platformer) Killzone 2, Resistance 1 and 2(shooter), Uncharted(action Adventure), Warhawk(aeriel), Valkyria chronicles (RPG) etc plus many others and the multiplatform.

Xbox 360 can't come close with the graphics capacity of PS3 look at Killzone 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4, and lately PS3 has not been flopping in games Killzone 2 AAAE but 360 has (halo wars 6.5, ochanbara) PS3 has blue ray, no paying for online, reliable console no rrod no disk scratching, no E07 error.

another reason to purchase a PS3 is it has games coming in the future while 360's shooting gun has run out of bullets, all 360 has is some ninja game that looks like it will flop and ..... while PS3 has God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, MAG, LA NOIRE, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, Ratchet and Clank, White Knights Chronicles, Quantom Theory, Under Siege, Wardevil, Little Big Planet 2, Twisted Metal, Gran Turismo 5 plus many other game.

Ps3s days are ahead xbox 360 is counting on the past to bail it out PS3 is worth the money.

The PS3 was created for all the wrong reasons. First, it was used to win the next movie format. Second, Sony got distracted by MS from doing what they do -- going from producing gaming systems that people can afford (even if they aren't the graphics king) into a jock scratching contest to see who could build the most powerfull console (which is ridiculous because people who really want the best graphics will get a PC). The end result is an overly expensive system that is losing the console war. One can purchase a PC with better graphics and gameplay for roughly the same price as the PS3. I don't understand how the PS3 is selling at all.psychobrew

Ok, to start off I understand how other platform fans have their beefs and start their little arguments nit-picking at stupid stuff but SONY is really doing it's thing these days.

I've had the PS3 since the FIRST day it released, and I love it. Now people debated Blu-Ray would fail, SIXAXIS would fail, PSN would fail, Exclusives would fail (Killzone, Resistance for example). And now that I've had the PS3 for a while, i must say everything about it just says QUALITY. Nothing is half-a$$ed, no corners are cut and everything is worth every penny.

The Blu-Ray is amazing, quality is top-notch. The Functions of MP3, Video, and Photo are convenient and a viable option even though they aren't my main uses of the PS3. It's great to be able to turn off the TV and use my MP3 to come through the speakers and have that great sound system bumping my favorite songs. But thats besides the point. About the games...

The PSN is a free service offering Blu-Ray quality movie rentals and downloads at a fair price, PSN Network Exclusive games like Flow, FLOWer, EchoChrome, PixelJunk, The Last Guy, Crash Commando, Calling All Cars, Super Stardust, and MUCH more. Also, there are the PS1 CLASSIC games which are a fun, retro change of pace for me from time to time. Then, there's HOME which I personally barely ever use but my brother and others who don't know many people on the PSN are able to connect, make friends, create parties and jump into their favorite games organizing squads and strategies. It's just a lot better to roll into a multi-player with people you know already and who got your back in a game like Call Of Duty or Killzone or are challenging opponents for a match in Street Fighter.

IN CONCLUSION, If you don't have a PS3 it is well worth the buy. BUT, if you're not going to get one... Don't try to nit-pick at stupid stuff and just know that you and your whatever it is system that you have isn't blowing SONY out of the water in the least bit... and that you're missing out on A LOT!
