whats wrong with uncharted?

I see a lot of people bashing the crap out of the game... because it has inspired ideas? or is it cuz its a ps3 game?

What's wrong with Uncharted?

From what I've been reading/hearing its nothing but good.

Good diversity in environments, solid gameplay, beautiful graphics, great animations, etc

It's a PS3 exclusive, that has good devs, so it should turn out well.

I haven't seen many people bashing this game though. Looks fun to me.

The only problem I see with Uncharted is the gunplay.

*i'm in the game, 50 feet from the enemy....-runs 50 feet- hits and kicks the enemy.

the gunplay reminds me of dead rising.

Have you seen the new vids? You can't just run up to them, they'll die, and you don't take many hits neither do they. The hand to hand is also much improved from before. They fixed the problems with the gunplay.

Have you seen the new vids? You can't just run up to them, they'll die, and you don't take many hits neither do they. The hand to hand is also much improved from before. They fixed the problems with the gunplay.

The latest video I watched was posted not to long ago having a person running up to someone being shot with an ak47 it looked liked and he knocked him out.

You haven't played it, so how can you say anything otherwise? I'm taking the word of other people have played it.. oh btw fanboy the gameplay is similar to Gears, so if you loved that then why won't you like this? Looks to be a lot less stiff, you can actually jump, there's more to the game than just cover and shooting, you actually have to traverse the environment, explore, puzzle-solve, etc so if you liked Gears what's wrong with this...

Well for starters the camera in the game sucks its a hassle to deal with when you are exploring or in combat.

Also the targeting system in the game is awful along with the cover system both these thing need alot of tighting up.

And while uncharted does have some puzzle solving its main focus will be on combat and platforming.

O yeah and itz only a 8-12 hour game and for a action adventure game that sucks.

It's certainly a drop dead georgeous game...but that's it. We still no next to nothing about it and people are going around calling it AAA confirmed simply because it's pretty.goblaa

It's been hyped even more. Do a search for Uncharted.

It's not on the 360. Simple as that.

If it was, it would be listed right alongside the other 360 bigshots by lemmings big and small. I guess people are angry that Naughty Dog, a proven game developer with a long history of making great Sony games, has stubbornly refused to chase the money like every other company is doing.

It's too early to say that Uncharted will be amazing (wait for a demo), but like every other game, all we have to go by is what we've seen, and from what I've seen it looks pretty epic. Though it's not entirely original, it takes ideas from a bunch of other games, uses them, and mixes up something new, which is what Halo is so highly praised for.

The shooting elements of Gears, platforming elements of Prince of Persia/AC, environments of Tomb Raider/Far Cry, story of Indiana Jones, motion-capped cutscenes of Heavenly Sword (it's the only example I can think of). It sounds like a damn good combo to me, and I will be snapping this one up immediately.

Cows have been hyping derivatives like crazy since the PS3 launched, it's nuts. RFOM, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted. God damn.DaysAirlines

You had no idea what derivative meant until the R:FOM review. "Derivative" isn't a genre, by the way, and as an adjective it can be applied to almost every game in existence.

Yet another weak post. I thought I saw some potential in you, and I was obviously wrong.

People aren't hyping this because "it's pretty", they are hyping it because it's Naughty Dog. When it was just called "untitled Naughty Dog IP", people were already drooling over it. This isn't some wet-behind-the-ears dev like Ninja Theory (though I strongly disagree with HS being a bad game in any way, I am currently on my 6th full playthrough) or a hit-and-miss dev like Factor 5. This is Naughty Dog, a Playstation institution since Crash Bandicoot.

Of course we are excited. These guys and Insomniac are the best at what they do, and Uncharted is a new IP (though I would have liked a Jak game too). I really don't care who else likes it, anything Naughty Dog makes will be a winner, whether it's AAA or not.

Look harder. There are enough vids out there to give you a good idea of what it's going to be like. Hanging from a wall, pulling yourself up, shooting, and then dropping back down is a unique way to use cover, and it looks to be an effortless combination of platforming and shooting.

Anyway... I don't know why I'm defending it, nobody will be convinced of anything. The haters will continue to pick it apart, and the people who are excited about it won't waver in their faith in it.

What matters is that a lot of us are excited for it, and the haters won't get to play it anyway. Too bad for you, I guess.

Well, I have owned a Commodore Vic20, Spectrum Z8 128k and 48k, Commodore 64, Atari ST, Nintendo NES, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Nintendo SNES, Playstation, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Xbox, DS, DS Lite, and Wii. Probably forgetting one or two.

I'm too busy to buy all the consoles, so I only focus on the good ones. Playstation 3 is a massive waste of my resources and commitment. I only buy gaming platforms that genuinly take my interest.

I don't own my own Xbox360 yet. I intend on buying one exactly on the Mass Effect release date.

I have been playing games with good graphics since when Forbidden Forest was considered as having very good graphics.

Okay so you suddenly dropped your hardcore sheep MO and you don't even have a console to replace it? So now you're kind of a fakeboy lemming? Alright.

If you're such a gamer, you would give the PS3 a try. I've played every console in existence since I was a young sprite, most of what you listed as well as Turbo Grafx 16, the Lynx, Jaguar, 3D0, Saturn, Dreamcast, even the Virtua Boy. I didn't accidentally buy a PS3, there really is a lot of great stuff on it, even now. It's far from a "massive waste" of anything, unless you plan to keep watching SD DVDs for the rest of your life and really don't think it will ever have good games, which is ridiculous. Even SEGA's failed systems had plenty of AAA's, some were considered the best of their respective genres.

To sum it up, just stop being a fanboy, dude. You will like it a lot more when you realize how many opportunities it opens up.

Missing out on Heavenly Sword, one of the most cinematic and downright fun experiences I've ever had in a game, just because it's short, now that is a massive waste. Think about it.

What in the world are you talking about? Theres been tons of gameplay shown, how about doing some research and while your at it look up the list of Naughtly Dog games and tell me how many of those games had bad gameplay?
