What's your favorite genre of game? Does your system of choice have the best offerings of that genre?

My favorite genre is RPG and ARPG, I love character building and stat building. I even love grinding. My system of choice is Xbox and PC. PC is by far better, but I play more on Xbox because it's hooked up to the big screen TV.

I think PlayStation probably has better RPG and ARPG exclusive games. I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm just assuming they do because I can't think of any on Xbox. Luckily, all the best ones are multiplatform, at least my favorites are.

I also love beat 'em ups like Streets of Rage 4 or River City Girls which seems to be pretty equal across the platforms. Probably my 3rd favorite genre is FPS and Halo is in fact my favorite FPS genre. The series has taken a dive with 343i and Halo Infinite looks like trash, but the Master Chief Collection is awesome. I like how Halo has that kinda sandbox gameplay for every encounter with very minimal story or cutscenes getting in the way. In contrast, overtime I have started to really hate the Call of Duty campaigns in comparison because it's a constant series of set pieces taking control away from the player, with a lot of cheap deaths on the harder difficulties that I really don't feel were my fault. Every time I play a Call of Duty campaign, I swear to myself it will be the last. When I die in Halo, I feel like I wasn't good enough and I can think of another way to tackle the situation.

I prefer single player narrative driven third person action adventure games. I've played on Playstation since Christmas '95. I'm covered.

Favorite is RPG and PC is preferred platform.

PC is by far the best place for RPGs

Overall, a solid RPG if I have the time. More and more i'm into platformers, where I just play to my hearts content. I completed 100% of Bowser's Fury, but got fed up of grinding the last "secret" level of 3D Mario World, where you needed all flags, stars and stamps and i'm about 95% there.

3D Platformers. The Switch has plenty of it. :)

Probably RPG, especially cRPGs, but I'm also a strategy (both TBS and RTS) nut. Oh and puzzle adventure games. And..

Western Rpgs and fighting games.

Xbox has rpgs cover and the future is bright with Bethesda and

Obsidian. I am looking forward to the new Fable.

Fighting games not so much. I really hope they make another Killer Instinct.

Racing games and yes my console is the best for that genre.

JRPGs and Switch has got me covered.

I guess my favourite genre is JRPGs but honestly there’s a good number that are right up with it that I love such as Action/Adventure, Platformers, Fighting, Beat ‘Em Ups, Hack and Slash, and Third Person Shooters. My preferred platform is Xbox and in covers my JRPGs pretty well with a good number of ones that I enjoy but could certainly use a few more. I’m a multi console owner though so I can just get the ones it doesn’t get on the other systems.

Action Adventure, Action RPG and Fighting.

None of that is a genre, but aspects of MANY genres.

My favorite genres are shooters, action adventure, RPG's, 3D platformers and racing.

My systems of choice are PC, PS5 and Switch so I have access to every game that releases anyway.

RPG/Action RPG. My system of choice has no games, so yea.

Don't really have a favorite.

FPS, RTS, 4X and turn based strategy are easily best played on PC.

Racing, action and third person shooters I prefer on Xbox.

Got GPU so I can try out whatever on either platform. Same with emulation of retro games

Only genre I can really say I don't like are platformers. I don't really play my Switch at all.

RPGs and RTS, and yes...PC has plenty.

Shooters covers a lot, so I'll just go with that.

Xbox has Halo and Gears and every other major third party offering so yeah it does that pretty well, plus they acquired id Software through the ZeniMax acquisition.

Third person action games. Between owning a PS5 and PC, I'm WELL covered on that

ARPG, RPG and open world games I have a PC,PS4,Series x and a Switch so get all I need currently obsessed with Genshin impact. Just got Persona 5 on the Ps sale and FF7 remake so set for a while

As a console gamer I have a PS4 and an Xbox One X

I crave zombie games. Most games are available on both consoles, but Dead Rising 3 is only on Xbox and Days Gone and Until Dawn only on PS4, so I am covered.

RPGs. Especially old school, hard, turn-based RPGs. PS4 usually got me covered with Persona etc. , and the Xbox One X is great for Kotor, Dragon Age Origins, Final Fantasy 9 etc. I also use a tablet emulator for a few titles such as Final Fantasy 5 and Shining Force.

I play many other genres, but I don't want this post to go on forever.

It's kind of changed through the years. 90 and early 2000's would undoubtedly be FPS.

Nowdays, RPG, fighting games I guess. Though kind of gone off fighting games as well for like the last year and a half.

I enjoy games with good narratives I do not care what genre as long it is engaging with good character development.

Console of choice is PS4/PS5 because I like Sony exclusives.

I stopped playing FPS games. I have developed massive burnout from this genre.

Favourite series is Yakuza because of the epic story.

I don't have a favorite genre. I love everything that speaks to me, and that can be whatever. Just not very into sim and strategy games, but even those genres have a few games I like.

I love platformers. Would be lame to not own a Switch for those, so I'm glad I do. I love FPSs, and my PC takes care of those. But again, I like everything that speaks to me, and that could be anything.

Just got Loop Hero on Steam. It's a roguelike/tower defence/strategy/deck building game. So fucking weird, and I'd probably never play it had I not watched a random streamer playing it. For some reason, I got a bit hooked watching it, and immediately bought it. It's awesome.

I have many favourite genres, from 2d platformers, to open world games, WRPGs, RTS, point and click adventures, etc.

I can't speak for particular consoles, but i love how indie gaming brought many of them (that have been dead for decades) back to relevance.

That said, my favourite modern games are Dreams and No Man's Sky, which don't really have a genre.

Any form of RPG (J,C,A,W), open world, or strategy are my genres. PC covers all of that, and any it doesn't (GOT, GOW, FF7R, Persona 5,) my Playstation covers.

Arcade-style action games are my favourite genre. And I believe PC is the best platform for that genre.

Action Adventure , by far. My system of choice was/is PS4 at the moment. I'm happy with the results.
