PSP for me. It's a tough choice, but I based my decision on the fact that I have played and enjoyed a wider variety of games on my PSP. On my DS I mostly play remade RPGs and the newer ones. I have played some games from different genres, but RPGs are the best for DS imo. Also the PSP has MGS:PO(my fave handheld game) and is getting MGS:PW. Those games alone make it better for me.
Hmm, it's a tough choice really.
But I'd stick with my PSP if I could only have one, games like Blazblue Portable, DJ Max Portable 2/Black Square, Gundam vs Gundam NEXT+, Gundam Battle Universe, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA, Lumines 2 can keep me entertained for a long time.
On the other hand, the DS has Tetris DS, my favorite version of Tetris, SoulSilver, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, Ace Attorney games, and many more...ugh tough calls.
PSP for me. But that's because the screen is wonderful for watching videos. I haven't really played games on it. But, I've seen some games which are PS2 quality and looks great on the PSP.
I also have my kid's old DS since she moved to the DS Lite. I do like the touchscreen although I haven't gamed much on it too. I'll probably start gaming on both. But first, I have to peel off all the kiddie stickers my kid slapped on the DS.
DS>>>PSP
but as of late, i hate both because nothing lately has come out which is actually brilliant.
DS by far.
My psp is only used for monster hunter. It's about the only game I've played on it that has any lasting value.
Both seem really cool from what I've played, a far cry from Pokemon Blue on GBC :P The PSP hate around these parts really baffles me though :?locopathoIt does me too, the same people who knock the wii for having bad gfx and sound and gimmick controls, praise the ds and bash the psp, yet the psp has 100x better gfx, memory, CPU/ gpu speed, memory card storage, betet sound , an actual analog stick, widescreen HD looking resolution( for it's screen size it's comparable to HD) , tv out , it can play the vast array of ps1 games and has some of the most engaging games on it. Plus if you like ps2 style games the psp can't be beat! You can play 2 full sized gta games that were actually ported to the ps2, complete with radio stations and all! The 3rd one is a da port and while a good game is overrated by sites. Plus you got god of war that looks and plays like the console bros. Really both systems have great games, I own both and an iPod touch( writing this post on it while hiding on the bathroom at work.. Lol) the psp just gets too much hate from the people who don't even know the papa library. The just say it has no games when I can name a few hundred ( of which I own about 60)
I think its clear where I stand, as well where the gaming media, and the general population of gamers stand
But i'd love to own a PSP again if sony realises they need to drop its price. Its virtually dead in NA. I mean 2-3million units per year? I'd get a PSP 3000 in no time if they put in a much better battery capable of at least 10 hours gaming and drop it to $99
I mean really the thing has been $169 since Early 2007 and has sold poorly here since then....its lost developer support despite a few gems here and there... Sony really has treated it with no sympathy, instead opting for 2-3 PSP titles per year @ retail.
Remember Summer of '08? Made me sell my PSP (well bills did but the suck of summer 08 for PSP helped the decision) at one point the only well received PSP game from May to October was NCAA Football. National Collegiate Athletic Associsation Football.
Peace Walker is tempting but there simply isn't enough on the horizon. I played through the Syphon Filters, Ratchets, Patapon , Loco Roco, enjoyed what i could, but then it was over.
When I own a 360, Wii, PS3, DS its very hard to find time for any of them
I own both, and the definite winner for me is the DS. My main complaint with the PSP is that the games on it are mostly ports of games on other consoles, like MGS: P, Resistance Retribution and GoW: CoO. But that's just me. The remakes on the system rock, however.
I play my DS daily, and I haven't touched my PSP besides Monster Hunter a few months ago, Assassin's Creed Bloodlines, and God of War since launch.
I have an iPod Touch too, but too bad it's not a gaming device.
