What's your favorite Rhythm game series?

For other, there are Doney Konga, Samba de Amigo, Parappa the Rapper, Battle of the Bands, and a few other upcoming games. I can't wait for We Cheer, personally.

I'm going with Guitar Hero. DDR is a lot of fun, too, but the song selection totally ruins it. The gameplay is more fun in DDR, but it doesn't have many good tunes, which is why I went with Guitar Hero. You get a good workout from DDR, and it's really fun jumping around, but God, what to listen to? Kick the Can?

Audiosurf was a major disappointment for me. Donkey Konga flat out sucked, and I can't think of any other Rhythm games I've played at the moment.

I will always hold a soft spot in my heart for PaRappa the Rapper, so I'm gonna go with that.

The only fun i've ever really had with a Ryhtm game was on Samba Di Amigo on the DC over my friends house.ONLYDOD

Amplitude was also a good one.

I guess Guitar Hero and Rock Band blow the socks of anything simply with their controls, but they use the same formula as amplitude

Does pattapon count? I doubt it...lol

Oh well I have only played EBA of the listed titles, it was much more fun than I expected it to be.

I really liked a lot of the games mentioned on this thread, but I have to admit that I was addicted to Guitar Hero the longest time.

I'm not big on rhythm games, but can't you import your own songs into Audiosurf (I've only played a bit)? I don't find the tracklists for any other rhythm game too appealing, so I never buy them.Saturos3091

Yeah, you can play any song on Audiosurf. Hell, they don't even have to be songs. I played Dane Cook tracks while playing Audiosurf.

Also, I'm such a freaking idiot for forgetting Rock Band! How could I possibly forget that?

Guitar Hero, but they seriously need to make a new Gitaroo Man...NOW. Can't believe nobody has mentioned it, wackiest game ever.

I wish they would bring this game to North America it looks so cool.

Daigasso! Band Brothers it would be so awesome to play this game but I can't since I don't live in Japan. They were thinking about bringing it to North America under the Title "Jam with the Band"

I really liked Parappa the Rappa, then the mind-bending Um Jammer Lammy. Then Parappa the Rapper 2 came out and it pretty much ruined the series with it's dull setting and storyline plus poor uninspired and non-catchy songs.

Samba de Amigo was a blast, specially ver.2000 which had an amazing 40+ track selection.

I also like the Beatmania series. The only problem with them is that every release always has only a few tunes I like among tons of generic tracks.
