My favorite is adventure, but I mean real adventure games, so no Zelda, Metroid Prime or other similiar titles
second favorite would propably be strategy (altough I don't like pure RTSes much, I prfer TBS, city builders and real-time wargames)
My favourite used to be platforming, but the genre has really declined since the N64/PSX days (save for brilliant efforts like Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 and a few surprisingly good games). So now, I'd say racing, as I can always amuse myself with racing games, and they seem to take up most of my gaming time these days. I'm also pretty good at them, so that helps. :)
Don't really look at genres, I just play what I think I will enjoy. I probably have alot of Action Adventure and Fighters say over RPGs for example though, not that they are completely abundant in my collection.
2D games; platformers and metroidvanias.
I have to admit the gap between 2D and 3D is closing in with titles like SMG, which feels like a 2D game.
First-Person Shooters. I grew up playing them, and I'll probably die playing them (or when I get bored of playing video games).
I tend to enjoyed survival horror game the most followed by role playing game that allows you the option to choose your own path.

Couldn't tell you... but I can tell you my top favourite genres that I go through "phases" with.
Action-adventure (Castlevania, Legend of Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, etc.)
Role-playing (Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloddlines, Oblivion (I understand it is AA, but I enjoy role-playing in it))
Racing (Forza Motorsport, Burnout: Paradise, F-Zero)
Rhythm (DJ MAX Portable, Beatmania IIDX)
Shooters (Perfect Dark, Timesplitters, etc.)
Aside from Rhythm, these genre titles cover most of the sub-genres and hybrids as well related to the broader terms. I play many types of games, but most of them would fall in some way under these five headings.
