A pet peeve is something that you find annoying. My gaming pet peeve is frame rate problems. It bugs me as soon as I see it. What about you guys?

Push forward for 3-5 seconds cutscene for 1-2 minutes. Push forward again for 3-5 seconds, more cutscenes. When the game is generous you might get the opportunity to play for 30 seconds - a minute before the next cutscene.
Force walk or the game taking away mobility for exposition.
Hard "look over here", where the game takes control of the camera.
Characters that look out of place with the world. This is a common problem with JRPGs.
Female characters that are just dumb bimbos and only exist for horny men who haven't discovered Internet porn.
Clothing that is out of sync with the supposed role of the character. Like a soldier with long hair and little clothing or a military robot that is model like a sex bot.😂
Developers reloading scenes from scratch instead of resetting.
Hate when a game gives you guns and ammo etc., then routinely takes it all away from you.
Woke shit sucks, too.
How could it be anything else than clipping? I AM SO FKING TIRED OF SEEING LONG HAIR CLIP THROUGH ARMORS, SHIELDS WHEN ITS ON YOUR BACK, A GREATSWORD, ETC. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. From generation to generation, this shit never changes. The only game that did this well, and the best i've seen in a game is gow2018 and Ragnarok. Its so annoying.
Well, since you asked...

Yeah, I mean I get it, but it seems way too common these days, especially in AAA content. I know there's a lot of systems at work when building a game but you'd think something that kills immersion as much as clipping does would have been solved by now.
It's hard to say when I am enjoying a lot of games and not having many complaints.
I could come up with some things that I don't enjoy, but then it feels unfair to complain about them because there are others who do enjoy it. I'm not going to try to ask that every game fit to my tastes. For example I don't like deck building but other people clearly do, but there are so many good games out there I can easily avoid it. Same with grinding for loot drops.
I guess one thing I would mention is difficulty spikes. Another is releasing unfinished games, and paying for early release versions. Also if there is lack of a physical release.
Some of mine have already been mentioned.
But I'll add rolling boss battles. You beat a boss....then straight away another boss. It may even be the same boss. Xenoblade 3 was a big offender in this area. GOW 2018 could also be problematic (i just started but already faced off against the same guy 3 times!!). Most of the time they don't really do anything new in the following fight either. It's the same strategy to beat them.
I get what the developer is trying to do. A demonstration of your opponents power. But surely there are more elegant ways to do it. Even a quicker cutscene where the PC and their party loses or needs to retreat would be better than beating the same boss fight...AGAIN!!
Beyond the ones others have mentioned already, I also HATE modern game traversal sequences. Hold a direction, look for the shiny yellow ledge, press button and *watch* crazy shit happen. Then there’s the “hidden” items that ✨ in the distance. “Treasure” 🙄

Why do they never let you carry them on the protagonist's back? That medieval rat infestation game is a good example. Her little brother was much smaller than her and still she always ran while holding his hand, the tight field of view hiding that his feet were not long enough to keep up with her.
@mrbojangles25:
Really? I've met so many people in life that are ridiculously more helpless and useless than any depicted NPC character ever conceived.
- Weak characters, especially women but overall all characters. We all have strengths and weaknesses but I have never met a single person in my life that was a lost cause and need "damsel in distress" levels of assistance. While video games are far from real life, I feel like they can get a bit cartoonish and ridiculous in their depiction of women, nerds, and so forth
