What's your most favourite gaming platform? Why?

PC.

PC got huge gaming library and with tweaks i can play older games also. And i get great deals during Steam Sales. Above all i can mod my games which i'm unable to do so in console games, i get more bang for the buck , fun by modding my games.

P.S-

Used to be a Hybrid gamer till PS 4 , Xbox 360. Then noticed most games coming to PC (multiplatform) , thought about maintaining one gaming platform only PC for personal financial reason. Tho i miss console gaming also.

PC

PC gives me all the versatility I need. I can eliminate all the graphical settings I don't need, or add stuff I do want and feel is missing through modding.

I can switch from singleplayer to multiplayer on a whim without having to worry if I renewed my online subscription.

SNES

Whenever I want to play a solid platformer, I find myself returning to 16 bit.

Gamecube

Easily my favourite franchises are on Gamecube and also all of my favourite versions of Nintendo franchises: Double Dash, Wind Waker, even Sunshine.

Xbox won = Xbox one

1 - Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch. The freedom and luxury of playing where I wanna play is big for me. And now instead of trying to put a console on every TV in the house, I can play on these devices instead

2 - PC. The best way to play current games. PC offers the best performance and fidelity.

3 - Xbox. Xbox offers the best “value.” I’m not a big bargain hunter, so it’s not a HUGE deal for me. But my kids can hop on Game Pass and play whatever Paw Patrol or Bluey game they want and it doesn’t really cost me anything other that the subscription fee

4 - iPhone. There’s some pretty fun multiplayer games on iPhone now. Clash Royale. Brawl Stars. And I can play Teamfight Tactics there. Mobile gaming will never replace console gaming, but it’s better than ever

5 - PS5. I like the controller this time. And that Astrobot game was kinda fun. But this console has turned out like every PlayStation console does for me. I’ll checkout the exclusives here and there but not touch it much other than that. PSVR 2 is a nice headset, but the complete lack of support held it down. The PS Portal is a quality piece of hardware too that is also held down by the PS5 software. I don’t like movie games and the Xbox Series X is a better console, so I buy 3rd party games there instead.

How many consoles have you given a name then?

I just call my Playstation "shitbox" and my nintendo console "gamedroughts"

Xbox. It has the most power, best games, most reliable, best online, best controllers and all my friends and family have Xbox consoles.

All i'll say is that i am beginning to lose hope in Sony. Not good.

Why?

We are over half a generation in, and not only is there nothing made for the ps5, there's absolutely nothing on the horizon. This is the most depressing Playstation i've ever seen since the brand was invented.

PC. The almost infinite backwards compatibility, flexibility, variety of games, variety of inputs.

It's better at everything compared to other systems.

I bought my PS 5 because of Horizon FW so jokes on me.

Sony has offered nothing this generation because all they have done so far is make sequels to experience we've already had.

The only unique, noteworthy and Sony game they have made was Returnal and that was a financial flop (which sucks).

Apart from that I had fun with Stray and Knack on my PS5.

Who said that they'll be good? Haven't you learned your lesson with Starfield? At this point, the only games i see them investing resources and talent are games that will come to the PS, titles like the new Doom. PD didn't look like PD. Indiana Jones looks like a 7/10 from miles away. Clockwork might not even be released this generation.

7/10 is great score.

and yes indie will be fun movie ride. it is game based on movie.

clockwork is unique FPS/RPG hybrid. its bioshock/system shock with time travelling elements.

7/10 on GS, and if we judge the quality of the game from the public, this thing is a 5/10 at best. Nothing but memes come from this game. There's a reason why nobody plays it, and you NEVER hear any excitement for the dlc.

The game was such a disaster that they're guaranteed to port it to the ps5 within the next year.

Xbox 360 was one of my favourite system the jump from OG Xbox was insane.

Shame to see SONY faltering. It did great till PS 4.

They should port it to PS5, the game is far better with mods (like always) but hopefully Sony would finally be a little less restrictive on that side of things if it did get ported.

Xbox Series X for me. I have a HUGE library of games from the previous Xbox platforms that’s playable on it, a bunch of current gen games that I enjoy for it, and of course the best value in gaming with Game Pass Ultimate. Also have the best and most comfortable controller going.

PC and Switch for me. Best combo this gen has to offer when it comes to Nintendo exclusives only and PC for everything else.

My PS5 is just so far and between when it comes to my PC or the Switch for that matter. At lease Stellar Blade was a good excuse for turning it on.

My daughters play Series S and I only use it for retro gaming.

PC overall.

• Highly versatile and configurable. Want to play on the most powerful hardware? sure. Go nuts on a desktop. Want something powerful and portable? Laptops can pack a lot of punch. Something more portable still? PC handhelds have finally hit the big time (but shout out to AYA Neo andd GPD for setting the ground work). As I say: I have a switch and a 3DS: But the PC I'm typing this on is MY PC.
• It has the most powerful controller in terms of the mouse and keyboard. It also supports every controller under the sun basically. So whatever way you want to play, you are sorted.
• Tons of great games too. Too many games if anything. That's not even considering BC....which is the best in the business.
• If you ever want to learn games development (or dev in general....or anything else really) it's also it's own dev kit and a complete swiss army knife.

I still play on consoles too. Mostly Switch and 3DS. But they are losing their allure for me. Before there used to be a novelty to them. A new console was very exciting. New innards with "teh hidden power". New controller with new functionality. New UI. New possibilities. Now it's just....meh on the console hardware side.

i split my gaming between ps5, xbox and pc. don't really have a preference, i go where the games are.

as someone old enough to have a big physical collection of pc games i think all the pc is king of backwards compatibility talk is well overblown. getting some of them older titles to run is hard, to the point where i've given up and re-bought a lot digitally. even then, some are tricky and require a lot of googling and jumping through hoops.

but looking forward, the ps5 doesnt fit with the go-where-the-games-are mindset. it's almost certainly my last sony console. very few games this gen mean at least i can play my huge ps4 game library, some of which have perf updates for the ps5. but there'll be no similar saving grace for the ps6, im about 3+ years into owning a ps5 and i've probably got about 10 ps5 games, whereas 3 years into owning a ps4 i bet i had 40-50, finishing the gen with well over 100 physical games. now i'll start picking up third party games on gamepass instead of playstation so they're forwards compatible with pc (assuming i can get a small but powerful one so i can game in my living room without a big eyesore of a tower, i'm done with gaming at a table) or worst case an xbox

PC has it all. Guns, babes, guns.

PC, it does everything.

PC. It's the most complete package you can get of any platform. Backwards compatibility going back 20 years, mod support, and 73 thousand game library (on Steam alone). I can use any controller I want or mouse and keyboard, and I have the availability to customize my system however I want, from the case itself down to if I want my RAM to light up or not.

Multitasking tools are also a big deal for me, as I can stream a movie on one monitor while playing on the other, then switch it to 3D printing to make me money while I'm at work.

Steam deck all the way. Occasionally dust off the switch, but since the deck I've been on that almost exclusively.

I agree, lack of games this generation. And more focus was put to other things other than games.

PS5 and Switch. I've been on consoles and Handheld since i moved to UK. Just because i feel comfortable on sofa and just one TV for everything. However might get a PC end of this gen.

Consoles in general, I'd say I largely threw in the towel on PC gaming after a decade of always feeling like I had to upgrade every couple years, I like the simplicity of consoles.

PC.

Best of all worlds:

• Cost and performance ratio is solid.
• Largest library.
• Most diverse library.
• Largest single online community.
• Access to all input devices; mouse and keyboard (the best!), controller, flightsticks, throttles, rudders, eye/head trackers, VR headsets, steering wheels, and everything else you can possibly imagine.
• An open platform with multiple storefronts.
• Multitasking
• Cheap games, regular sales, lots of competition.
• If you like independent games, it's essentially the only platform for you.
• Essentially infinitely backwards compatible. Sometimes it takes some work but you can still play games from 90's with ease, from earlier too.
• Generally more mature community, though that's not saying much lol.
• If you like mil sims (ArmA, DCS World, submarine sims, etc.) it's pretty much the only platform for you.

Basically, my whole outlook is this: if you want to just play video games here and there, a console is fine; but if you want to actually be a video game hobbyist or an enthusiast, then you should game on PC.

I can't be bothered to finish that game, I am sorry to say. Bought it a month ago, enjoyed it for maybe 8 hours, slogged through another 6...can't go back to it.

It's not that it's a bad game, it's just so damn mediocre and vanilla. And the voiceacting is groan-inducing, they need to fire the director or whatever you call the person in charge of the voice actors.

PC

Xbox because of Forza Horizon/Motorsport among other things like the controller, achievements etc.

Playstation, it's second only because something has to come second, controllers die to quickly, games are most cinematic shit. It's a console that's it's only plus.

Third, real tough choice but I'll go with Nintendo because it's a hybrid console, everything else is crap about it especially its games.

PC is last, it just has to be, no freedom when it comes to buying games, stuck with digital only. Too many cheaters, and 25% of all PC users are pirates. There is no upside to playing on a PC or the failure that is Steamdeck.

PC because I dont have to make any sacrifices.

I can play at 4k, 60+ with ultra settings in any game, not to mention the cheaper games, more games, mods, free online, infinite backward/forward compatibility.

I have tried to use a console (PS5) as a companion to PC but it required too many sacrifices for little benefit.

I don't have a favorite, I play on whatever I have the urge for.
As the owner of 2 gaming PC and a gaming laptop (not a top end gaming laptop, but it does what I want)
and too many consoles to count, it's just whatever. Oh and the owner of a video game store with over 4,000 games.
So it's honestly up to whatever mood I'm in. I don't care if something has better graphics or not, I just care about having fun and playing what I want, when I want.

I don't have favourite system, I just play whatever I feel like playing.
