It's not "a anything." People who hyped lower just get owned if they're haters. If not... nothing happens.
if it exceeds hype then it is described not as a flop but as "overrated"
this is the right answer, every SW posters should know thisYou beat me to it, you sneaky devil you. >_>if it exceeds hype then it is described not as a flop but as "overrated"

Altho Not entirely the same, It seems some people call them "a sleeper" which I think refers to a sleeper hit, which is determined by sales, Most people on the forums, are more concerned with the games they want to reach the hype, or fall under it.
Nothing. If a game's hyped to a 9 plus and it gets a 9.5, it met its hype.
Now, if you're talking a game that was hyped to 8 "max" (usually, the more hype the higher the score prediction) and then hit a 9, then it's a sleeper hit.
This shows you how sad SW is when we don't praise a 'good' game, but instead hate a 'failed' game.Mr_Cumberdale
lol indeed. And how if a game gets one notch lower than expected it is immediately junk :P.
This is probably the most correct terminology. If it meets hype, it would probably be deemed a hit. If it greatly exceeds hype or meets hype under the radar then it could be deemed a sleeper hit.a "hit" or "sleeper hit"
