Ok, I understand that it takes a long time to make a game as huge and detailed as the Elder Scrolls, but seriously? Almost 5 years since Oblivion and not a word about TES 5? Im getting sick of waiting.

As far as i'm aware there are no plans for TES5, but I could be way off.
Edit: my bad, I just read a link that it's been announced... What is going on here?

Lol, wait, never mind. It was posted on April Fool's :P
April Fool's... Tricking Lundy86_4 4 months later
If they do make it I think it will be running on id Tech 5.
Link
Because they aren't licensing id Tech 5 out to other developers they are only using it for ZeniMax developers or 3rd Party games published by Bethesda.
I should hope so. I don't like the Oblivion/Fallout 3 engine much.If they do make it I think it will be running on id Tech 5.

Yeah, that was one of the first things that came to mind when I heard about ZeniMax's acquisition of id Software. It has to happen.
My assumption is that it will be in direct competition with Blizzard Next-MMO, considering all the rumors of the ENORMOUS budget project Diviniuz
If the Elder Scrolls turns into an MMO it will ruin the series.
lol what a fail postprobably never... its not a fps like fallout.
gamers only buy fps games.

Would you like this sequel to be just like Oblivion?
Shad0ki11
what do you mean by `just like Oblivion`?
Like a rehash.
Hum...i loved Oblivion. But i want a huge technical jump for the next TES so next gen looks more apropriate.
We'll probably hear something next year. I don't doubt they'll be making an entirely new engine for the game, or at least, they may want to. I think they should just keep the engine they have, work on a more Shivering Isles-type artstyIe and put more effort into story and character design. The foundation of Oblivion was great, it just lacked what made the other games so great (mostly interesting NPC's).
Well if they do make elder scroll 5 hope there tattoo and make the female charcter look more like womankyacatThat's like, the last thing Bethesda needs to worry about for this series. They need to go back to the way things were in Morrowind.
Yeah a like 6 hour sad-excuse for a main story is lame, there were some good side-quest lines, like dark brotherhood, but not much cool in actual main story. I'd like an entire game in a dark brotherhood type setting, doing assassinations and such. We'll probably hear something next year. you will hear about it when it's announced as a launch title for the next gen systems.Ok, I understand that it takes a long time to make a game as huge and detailed as the Elder Scrolls, but seriously? Almost 5 years since Oblivion and not a word about TES 5? Im getting sick of waiting.

I whole heartedly agree, i've done everything in Oblivion and also in Fallout 3, where the heck is Elder Scrolls 5, i can't stand this waiting, at least give us a release date even if it's just 2011, just tell us already.Ok, I understand that it takes a long time to make a game as huge and detailed as the Elder Scrolls, but seriously? I was kinda thinking that but I'm not sure because this generation of consoles is supposedly going to keep going for a while.
They need to get some competent designers first. Whoever thought oblivion's level scaling and cutting out half the skills was a good idea needs to be fired.Parasomniac
I agree. One of the only things I hated in Oblivion was the level scaling. It completely killed any purpose in leveling up

Sorry i disagree, for example when you reach level 10 or even before if you choose, you can go to Fort Strand and get the Rockshatter, powerful weapon, buy level 10 you can also wear dwarven or orcish armor then you can go to the ruin of Vindaesel and fight Umbra for her armor and sword which sucks the life out of just about any enemy you encounter, and it's more than a match for the trolls in the cave when you go to retrieve the eyes for the shrine to attain the unbreakable lockpick. All this can be done by the time your a level 10 thats not so long to wait, and then you have more than enough for a long time through out the game to easily take out most enemies, and when you reach level 20 you can get the daedric armor and do the shrine quest through the 6 oblivion gates to attain the flaming sword with a fire damage of 20hp, it's not hard to succeed in Oblivion at all, the level scaling is fine, just check the guide and find out the things you can obtain early on in the game that will destroy most creatures and enemies, even though i just basically told you what they are.It would be nice. I enjoyed Oblivion far greater than I did with Fallout 3, and I can't wait for the next installment of that franchise. It probably won't happen until the next batch of consoles though. I wouldn't doubt it if they were already working on it for the next Xbox.
