Wow, that far back, I am stupid lol.
Some games say "ONLY on XBOX" and aren't only on XBOX. It's craziness. That stamp doesn't mean that much, really.
I think the stamp you see there I've seen for a few years as well, like on 2007's Bioshock (ONLY ON XBOX 360 and Windows).
Other games with that lol "Only on Xbox" stamp :
That's off the top of my head. That stamp doesn't really carry weight like on other consoles.
--------------------
EDIT : Complete Thread Bypass. The point is Highlighted in red. The Value of that stamp does not mean much. Why is this hard to understand.
My point is simple. While those games may have come out originally on XBOX, they aren't really only on Xbox after a limited Time. My point is that when you stamp a game on OTHER CONSOLES from the past or present, it's not or shouldn't be a timed stamp, it should really mean ONLY ON XBOX. Forget comparison's, when we gamers see that stamp, it's value is timed. Does that make sense?

They would have been better off just putting "not on PS3" with the same effect and less letters...Some games say "ONLY on XBOX" and aren't only on XBOX.

Call me crazy, but isn't the reason you still see the copies with the stamps on them is because those copies were manufactured before the other versions were announced?
At the times those games were announced and released they were only found on the 360.Some games say "ONLY on XBOX" and aren't only on XBOX. It's crazyness. That stamp doesn't mean that much, really.

lol Yeah that's like blaming Nintendo for saying Metroid Prime is only on Gamecube (says on the box) when it's available on Wii right now. What about the Wii and Mac? The world doesn't revolve around the PS3 you know. ;)Oh come on Microsoft, just put "Not on PS3" and call it a day, you know that's what you're implying

They're giving away RFG again? This must be some brute force tactic of getting the brand out there to prepare for a sequel.Cherokee_Jacki like red faction Geurilla, except the patch of doom issue. But i would like to see that engine used more often.

Well you are gonna get some people who aren't that smart. They look at the game now, then head over to the PS3/PC section and see the same game. They go complain to MS for no apparent reason. You'll be surprised how many people there are that are like that...

Since I own all those games, and I have had this discussion about 50 times, I am well aware of that. Somehow, my point is missed. So, I will make it red so it's easier to read.
That ONLY ON XBOX stamp doesn't have the same strength we've seen in consoles past or present.

It's incredibly simple to understand. I thought of those off the top of my head, since I bought them first day. I am well aware of the circumstances, but it seems to me a few of you aren't getting the point.
"ONLY ON XBOX" doesn't carry the same weight like on other consoles past or present. It gives a gamer an idea that may or may not be true in the future, it's misleading. It happens A LOT on 360, which isn't something I saw so much on the older consoles, or other current consoles. Yes, it has happened in the past, however it happens far more often on these games stamped "Only on Xbox" when compared to consoles past and present. There are cases like this to be made for Gamecube or PS3 for instance, but they aren't as numorous as they are on 360.
If there was such a thing as "ONLY ON Wii" or "ONLY ON PS3", consumers would expect the same. It's tricky marketing.
In fact, I know there was a Only for N64, Only for Xbox, Only for Gamecube, Only for GBA (This one is foggy), and Only for PS for example. It's just the "Only For __" Tradition is losing it's power, especially on 360. Also, noteworthy is that there was no Only for PS2, and apparently no Only for Wii. I guess the leading consoles of their generation seem to omit the "Only For"s for some reason.
If you continue to do selective reading, you will miss my point.
"ONLY ON Wii" or "ONLY ON PS3".SolidTyI don't recall seeing any of these on boxarts, I know Sony does the "Only on Playstation" logo -- but that appears on Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 which raises a few eyebrows. I wasn't aware Nintendo did such a thing on their boxarts, or am I missing a point here?

Edit: By their games I meant 360 games because there are a ton of games that came out with the only of 360 stamp only to be removed at later dates when another version was released.

There is a generational difference in that example, though.

Don't be silly. This is Microsoft we are talking about. It is THQ that is pushing the game out there. They published it after all.

NGS didn't have an only for PS label (at least my Box I'm looking at right now did not have one), however, yes NGS2 did.
I guess Sigma offers enough content for Sony and Tecmo to make that argument for NGS2. In fact, If I remember correctly, the game HAD to be different enough due to some Xbox Licencing issues. to please Tecmo, Xbox, and Sony. I do know they do add content for that, whereas some of the games I listed are the same, content wise. That being said, it's a larger trend on 360, and no one really pays it much attention.
My point is that the "Only For / On" doesn't mean to much on the 360 games, since it really can mean, Only for...a limited time. GC had "Only On / For's", and one game I remember breaking that trend was RE4 GC, as it was ported very fast to the PS2 to make the fall the same year (2005). That was actually considered funny back then (even here in SW the "Only For Nintendo Gamecube Stamp" was a topic), as it was an exception. Today, we see the exceptions all the time, all or most coming from 360. What used to be an interesting exception to point at and discuss, has now become more the norm. Here I am explaining it.
Another strange exception we had fun with a long, long time ago was RE2 on N64. It was BIG, BIG news back in the day. I remember it fondly. RE2 came out for the PS1 in January 1998, it almost made Xmas 1997. Then, right around the time the next generation hit, and the Sega Dreamcast was released in the States, N64 got a copy of RE2 ported over October 31, 1999. It came almost two years after the PSOne game. It was funny to see the Only for N64 Stamp and we chatted about it. Not at this forum, but others. These exceptions used to be odd. These days, they are regular, run of the mill. Here is the boxart for N64's RE2 late port.
It's just something to think about, if not you, then other System Warriors.
It's sort of like Nintendo's Seal of Quality.
Ross_the_Boss6
I haven't trusted that seal since the N64 days.
It's interesting they mention RFG on that box, it's a perfect example of why I don't trust multiplats on the PC. it took them like 3 months to release one patch for the game, I just gave up in the end. Then they put it with the silly Windows Live thing no one wants and interferes for some people.
For example, when Live kicks in, the game stops recognising my control pad :?.
So many times they off shoot the PC version of a game to a dev who can't be bothered to make a decent port.
But this is off topic.
...Don't know when they changed the stamp but it makes sense for them and it shows the direction they are taking.
MS are more interested in expanding for the PC market then keeping games solely exclusive. Which is fine unless you are in SWs.
A better question.... when did microsoft start giving games away free?
Another question. Since when has microsoft given ANYTHING away for free.
TheDogout
On the subject "Since when has microsoft given ANYTHING away for free", there arefree MS downloads e.g.Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows Defender, Visual Studio Express, SQL Server Express and 'etc'. Try again.
some older games that was only on Xbox 360 like Mass Effect, then was ported to the PCWings_008The PC was the development machine for Mass Effect.

Yes, that's why it says: "Only on Xbox 360 and Windows".
Edit: It seems in some places it didn't have a stamp at all.
