Depends on what you mean by fail. If by fail, you mean not come in 1st place in terms of sales it's safe to assume that it's already failed. If by fail, you mean perform miserably as a console and force Sony out of the system war, I can't really see that happening.

It'll probably be discontinued by 2012.

The PS3 is not only failing but rather slowly gaining up on the 360. If anything the topic should be changed to "When do you think the PS3 will catch up to and surpass the 360?"

Going to be one less 360 owner here too now. Pointless to have a 360 with a Gaming PC since like 90% of all 360 games are on or will eventually end up on the PC.
