They've had it every year as long as I can remember (2004). Does anyone know when it is?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
It's usually either at the end of October or the beginning of November. It's not this week though. I already checked.
Thanks, guys. Do you guys know how far in advance we'll know?Plamino
I work at TRU (currently on leave for education), but here's how it works.
You can always check the online ad anytime after TRU closes on Saturday, probably an hour or two afterwards. They will update the ad for the next week starting on Sunday. For other deals, they will have "surprise" Friday and Saturday only sales, which is sometimes a buy one get one half off all video games and accessories, including controllers, guides, shirts, and stuff. You can check online for that also.
If you really want to know earlier, you can go in to a TRU Friday or Saturday and see if they have received the ad early. You're not guaranteed a look at it though.
dont they do it in december? (right before Xmas)LP4EVA2005
Another promotion maybe, but this particular one is usually before November. One time, they had it again after Christmas, but it was just that one time. You do not want to be in that store during the Christmas season. You'll be in line for the longest while.

Yeah, you can call so they can hold the game for you, but you can also do this.
If you want a game in November, like Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Sonic Generations, etc., you can buy a game that you don't want and get whatever you want for the other paid game and the free game. As long as you do not open the game and you have a receipt, you can return the game within 45 days. You can exchange the game you didn't want for the game you do want in November.
The policy of doing that hasn't changed as far as I know, so you should be fine doing that. You didn't hear this from me though.

That's awesome. I'm definitely going to try that if I can. Thanks for the idea!
