After today's conference is it obvious Microsoft will not be in the console market much longer. Who should take their place?

I think the gaming market will have an ecosystem collapse before another company comes in.
Like I said Microsoft seems to be willing to merge Windows 10 and Xbox together and will probably have a PC/Console hybrid.
I see Microsoft having third party OEMs just replacing Xbox consoles and Xbox consoles will be a high premium price.
That show was kickass. Get the fanboy boot out of your ass. And again, since when is 30+ million consoles sold a bad thing? Beating the Gamecube by a full 10 million.
They're releasing a new console that spanks the PS4 Protato to the oblivion...
I was prepared to be blown away. Only Metro Whatever and Anthem were up to my expectations and I'm not a fan of the Metro series or Bioware games for that matter. Older games still need to be patched for the system, just like on PRO, no automatic super hyper upgrades lol.

You should realize correcting people when you have no evidence is stupid.
No. If Microsoft drops Xbox, and focuses exclusively on Windows/PC, it'll be just PlayStation and Nintendo on the console front. I just don't see anyone else jumping into the console market, and I don't think gamers would be accepting of a new console.
They won't drop Xbox, they'll simply turn Xbox consoles into Windows 10 S PCs for the living room with a XB dashboard, that's where I think MS are heading towards. It makes sense actually.
If you think Microsoft is going to leave the console market then you don't understand the big picture that the Xbox is more than just a gaming machine to Microsoft, it is their best gateway to the consumer's living room and having that gateway to the living room is very valuable to Microsoft and will become even more valuable in future years because Microsoft isn't just competing with Sony and Nintendo, they are also competing with the likes of Apple, Google, and Amazon for control of digital media and services to the Living Room which is going to be very profitable in the coming years, so Microsoft would be stupid to drop their best gateway to the Living Room after all that they have already invested into building up the brand.
Microsoft is not leaving the console market and I don't ever want them to leave because it would be very bad for all gamers (even the Xbox haters that refuse to acknowledge how important Microsoft has been to the gaming industry since they joined) if they did leave, but I would love to see Sega return to the console market.
Really? I agree MS had a poor E3 this year, but they're not leaving the console space. It wasn't a terrible conference or anything. I'm still getting the Xbox One X, (what a piss poor name lol. )
