PLEASE say IN CONSOLES ONLY..... because it makes it seem like your trying to compare halo withgames on PC and it just makes you look stupid...

because so many games on PC justKILL halo's single play and multiplayer

This is a system wars myth which i wish Casey would have put in his thread. The idea that PC gamers apparently have higher standards in shooting games. That really is just nonsense, and this is coming from a PC gamer.

My favourite shooter of all time is the half-life series. Absolutely love it. My second would be Halo. Whenever Halo is mentioned however, you always have hermits saying "yeah its good on consoles but compared to PC shooters it's pretty average and mediocre...."

And every time i ask - what? Because i have a PC, and i'd love to know where this plethora games is which are apparently so damned good, when compared to their awesomeness Halo is considered "average."

Name them all, please. Because lord knows i'm not aware of them.

That's because Halo 1, much like the call of duty games, didn't even have a physics engine. Halo 2 used Havok. Halo 1 had no physics at all. If you hit the covenant supply crates, they stayed put. On Halo 2, they'd fall over. That's why grenades completely changed from one game to the other. In Halo 1, it was simply an animation of the chief throwin a grenade which would fall to the floor depending on how you threw it. In Halo 2, it was an object which reacted to physics. It would bounce, be kicked, blasted away in a nearby explosion etc etc

I prefered Halo 1's grenades. I dont like the bounciness. :(

IMO, Halo has the best music, best storyline, best gameplay, and best co-op of any FPS game to date.

Storyline may be under thread because I haven't gotten though Bioshock yet, but I think in terms of storyline execution, Halo is perfect. Because the user decides how much they get out of it. Don't like story? Fine, ignore it cut to the chase, shoot some dudes. If you do like it, pay attention, get the full storyline from the games, and even delve into the mythology and this whole Halo Universe they've created which is explored further through graphic novels and novels and short films and crazy alternate reality games.
