[QUOTE="fatzombiepigeon"] Did you ever consider the idea that since Sony is a larger company they would have more factories and areas to produce these goods, whereas Nintendo is pretty much all about video games, and thus are probably a smaller company with fewer factories and production forces?

Lets just go on the idea that you are correct. I would suggest Nintendo needs to look at their priorities. The DS has been around for awhile, there's no need for the amount of units Nintendo is shipping out. They need to shift workforce from the DS to the Wii.
And they should have done it months before the Wii even launched. Honestly, if you're about to launch your "comeback" console. Make enough units to go around. It's simple.

But I don't buy that either. Nintendo isn't a small indie company, if they need more factories they make them. They're not broke.Â
Factories aren't something that just pop up with the expenseof a few grand. They take awhile, and the DSL is selling faster than the Wii. Why should they switch priorities? They already have hype in the bag. If people want your product and another one is still selling faster, you'll continue to work on that fastest selling product. And no, they are no indie company, but factories, people to run those factories, and the dozens of other costs coming into running production for several factories pose a problem.
