I don't see a problem with the PS controller, because it has worked well for how many years now.

Who care about changing the look, I say go back to the original Dualshock design it was way better than the no rumble, convex triggered, battery sealed crap that is the sixaxis.

Well its worked so far, no reason to change it. Although I think Sony will change the analog/d-pad configuration to that of the 360's for the PS4.

After 2 gens the MS controller is still the worst. What do you recommend they do? Shift the D-pad, change the L1 and R2 buttons, add button pressure sensitivity?

They did change it. Then people complained, so they backtracked.

The xbox and the gamecube had the two worst controllers, both in look and control scheme, thats why they changed it. The dualshock is simply the best and doesnt need to be changed

I disagree. To me, the DualShock has horrible ergonomics. It makes my hands cramp almost as much as an old NES pad.

Who cares? And they all feel very different anyways. They did change the look with the boomerang thing and everyone complained about it.

mhm all 3, i own an xbox 360. my little cousin has a wii, and once when i was sick my brother had to take me to work with him (walmart) and i played the ps3 and the demos. the wii is really fun, the 360 one really can get you comfortable, and the ps3 one is nice, (i never said it wasnt) i just think its time fora change. we've seen that same design for over a decade now

I've never liked the analog placements and have always found the sticks a tad stiff for my tasts. The 360 controller is the best aside from the dpad which was great on the controller s. I'd like to see the analog placements on the ps3 changed to match 360 so the sticks feel more natural. Also, more defined triggers could be cool too.

I agree, the only problem I see with the controller is the D-pad.

You either have HUGE hands, which would mean you shouldn't be able to properly handle that PS3 piece of garbage either. Or you're just complaining over nothing. Which sounds very likely.

You just arrange your middlefinger next to the other 3 fingers you're not using at the bottom of each grip. Ans yeah your nail might touch the batterypack in that position *gasp.

What he said.

And your seriously going to act like there was a big change between xbox and 360? The only company to really switch around the controllers are Sega and Nintendo.

It's actually starting to feel outdated...
Then again, what's to expect from Sony.
I bet they will still have the same old controller when the PlayStation 17 is released.

The Gamecube controller would never have worked for the Wii, and the original Xbox controller was clunky and poorly designed, so the 360 controller was a welcome change.

By building the battery in, you basically guarantee that the controller in question will have to be replaced after a few years. (Batteries don't last forever. In fact Lithiums naturally loss their ability to hold a charge just with age)

When Sony tried to change it there was an outcry of stupid whiny people. People who bashed without even trying the new controller. So I'd say we'll have the Dualshock look for a long time.

I can't believe they've stayed with the original design so long, three generations of hand cramps FTL. The banana design looked better imo. Tells something about Sonys originality  Not to talk about the pathetic last minute motion sensing add-on.

But hey, that's just my opinion about this case :)

The problem is, how long can they beat a dead horse? Nintendo's controllers actually tell you that they understand progression. Ditto with Sega, Microsoft, and even Atari. Sony? Just tweak it a bit, but still have the same design.

Yes but the nice thing is the battery can be replaced very easy when it gets to that point. There is instructions on how it's done in the users manual.

but the DS3 feels so nice in your hand. i dont know if its worth changing
