When will the next battlefield 2 come out?

In terms of its online greatness?

For a console? Reason I say console because I don't have like $3,000 to dish out for a new computer to play crysis lol...

Im definently not saying that every other online gamewas alot worse or anything. I played and loved these online multiplayer games... Halo 2, Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm,and Warhawk since my Battlefield 2 craze. But Battlefield 2 seemed to have that amazing online multiplayer feel to it, (probably the whole sandbox design and the ability to use jets/heli's n all that good stuff). Warhawk is similar to that style but not as involved.

Id figure id ask in system wars because I would get answers from all three of the major console auidences.

What BF3?

I dont see any large maps or 64 player online....I see tiny 24 player maps...a standard shooter with the BF name attached....

Im sure the next BF game will be on the PC.

We're talking about a true battlefield game, i.e. the pc versions where you have more than 24 players and you have HUGE maps with jets, boats e.t.c.

maybe by console standards.....by 24 players simply isnt enough for a BF game.

Forgotten Hope 2 comes out later this year... the only thing that made me keep my copy of BF2.foxhound_fox

its like BF but much more realistic and Everybody uses Teamwork.

There is NO battlefield 3 comign out.

Games that seem to have a battlefieldish gameplay to it : BF :Cad Bompany , Wuake Qars , Frontlines : Wuels of Far. MS has a new technology called DonnyBrooks that will allow a huge number of players to play at once (in FPSs) so soon you will see 64 player games pretty often.

I said maps ...not number of players. But that can mean just in SP.

you dont need a 3000$ pc for crysis, 4year old pc's will be able to run the game, and i havent played it yet but it seems like it will remember BF2 a bit.

and dont worry EA will probly release a BF3 but they got bashed a lot for releasing bf2142 instead of prorply patching BF2 so i guess they are taking their time to make a solid game this time around, it should be announced next year(i doubt they are droping the PC fan base)

you mean an MMOFPS? those have exsisted for a while now......

and yes quite certainly BF3 will come....they have made a BF game almost every year now....and I highly doubt that they will stop creating more when its one of the most popular online games out there....the fact that Bad Company is not coming to the PC is most likely a good indictation that they are doing something more-battlefield-esc for the PC.
