When will Unreal Engine 4 Era start?

Next Mortal Kombat is using UE3 modified, IIRC Arkham knight is doing the same. So when we will start to see UE4 . Well i know the engine released but what i mean is when will UE4 be common like UE3. And how many years until we see its full potential.

I think we wont see its full pottential until DX12 at least. And Q4 2015 games will use UE4 or something else than UE. I also think Unreal Tournament will have an effect on the subject

Probably next year, we can just assume at this point but I agree, it's pathetic that devs still use UE3.

There are already UE4 games out, but to answer your question I would say 2016+

The 8th gen is a slow boil.

When we get PS5 and Whatever the hell next Xbox called. Current gen is well....seems too weak for it.

UE3 is still a great engine, given that many devs are still using it is a testament to that.

Ironically, developers could create any game and you would have absolutely no idea which engine they used unless they told you.

The engine itself matters little compared to how it is used.

We probably won't see any UE4 games till late 2015 to 2016. All we can do is wait till then.

But DX12 only releases in 4Q 2015, so probably it will become the standard sometime in 2016.

More like UE 3.5 since the weakness of the "next-gen" consoles forced Epic to scale it back.
