Well, Sqare-Enix is supporting the Wii already. They have 2 titles planned and the Wii hasn't even been out 7 months. That's more than the Cube ever got (one game).
Capcom is giving the Wii and exclusive RE game. EA has made a studio dedicated to the Wii.
I think the Wii will have MUCH better 3rd party support this gen. Not as good as the 360's or PS3's, but much, much better than the Cube.Â
Well there's No More Heroes, Treasure Island Z, Dragon Quest, Opoona, RE:4 Wiimake, RE: UC, NiGHTS, Boogie, and a few others all as a result of the Wii's success.
It takes more than 6 months to develop a good quality title, and seeing as how the Wii's only been out that long, this is to be expected...
I think that it's inevitable that there will have to be competent third party support on the Wii at some point in the future (considering it will soon be the market leader) but when do you think we'll see it? The only third party games coming out this year that have any chance at being good are Nights, No More Heroes and Dragon Quest Swords. Everything else looks like crap. The first party support on the Wii is (as usual) unparalleled but the quality of third party exclusives is still the most important concern as with any console. When do you think that we'll see some serious efforts from developers (other than Sega or grasshopper) on the Wii? NorthlandMan
Never. I'm serious. There will never be a serious effort from 3rd party developers for Wii. There is no reason for them to even try. Wii is selling right now even with all of the terrible games on it. There is no incentive, motive, or urgency for 3rd parties to even try. This saddens me...
Be honest though, how many of those titles have the makings of a AAA title. You could argue the case for Nights, Opoona, DQ Swords or No More Heroes. Umbrella Chronicles is a gun survivor game (last i heard), RE4 is a port, boogie will be a great game for casuals but nothing more and Treasure Island Z looks like a "competent" title at best. I have yet to see any third party title on the Wii that has completely blown me away.Well there's No More Heroes, Treasure Island Z, Dragon Quest, Opoona, RE:4 Wiimake, RE: UC, NiGHTS, Boogie, and a few others all as a result of the Wii's success.

Trust me on this answer, NEver ever. It will be a system for Nintendo games only. Maybe a handful of good 3rd party games until they abandon it completely.

I disagree... with the games Nintendo will put out, it will take a hell of an effort if devs wanna turn a profit.

Be more optimistic. Spiderman 3 turned out pretty good for the Wii.

A = good ;Â AAA = superb... remember that.
Of course no game has blown you away so far, the Wii was home to hand-me-downs and rushed cash-ins. Everybody thought it was a joke. These games being announced are the ones that have the chance to show what the Wii is capable of, regardless of labels.
You can't ignore the devs that have flocked to the Wii recently; it's an impressive list.
There's no way to know if a game that hasn't been released yet has a "chance" at being good or not.HeedleGlavin

I would have agreed with you if it wasnt for the DS. But the DS has SPECTACULAR support from third parties. Konami, Squareenix, Bioware, Level 5, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Namco et al have loads of titles out and in development fr the system[QUOTE="AvIdGaMeR444"][QUOTE="NorthlandMan"]I think that it's inevitable that there will have to be competent third party support on the Wii at some point in the future (considering it will soon be the market leader) but when do you think we'll see it? 3rd party devs most likely still have a residual bad taste left in their mouths from multiplat GameCube games selling much more on Gamecube than Xbox and PS2. 3rd party devs might be scared to sink a lot of money into a game for Wii because they know 1st party software is what drove GameCube sales, and might fear the same thing will happen to Wii. Remember, a lot of 3rd parties abandoned Gamecube for Xbox and PS2. Xbox barely sold more consoles than Gamecube, but people bought 3rd party games on Xbox. Gamecube 3rd party games SOLD HORRIBLY! If anything, 3rd party devs are being very, very careful and putting in MINIMAL EFFORT for Wii titles.Â
I fully expect a lot of terrible 3rd party games. 3rd party devs are scared to put in the effort given their past history with their games not selling well on Nintendo consoles. Less effort = less money spent for them.Â
Wii owners have every reason in the world to be concerned about this.

Decent third party on the Wii, or on any Nintendo home console? As far as I've seen, Nintendo's handheld(GBA & DS) gets massive praise & third party support, but their home consoles have always been on the hurting side ever since the N64 days. ScalIywag

Wait a minute, if u mean the list on top of my post, welll then yes of course. I'm glad to see Nintendo gaining the attention of 3rd party devs, for whatever reason attracts them to Nintendo's Wii, it about time they got it right.
