When will Xbox Scorpio be released?

6 tflops? Approaching 4k 60fps in modern titles? Ok... I am guessing $500 (for the cheapest model in case there are multiple versions) releasing end of october.

Thing is, MS they don't like to get too crazy. So I'm not expecting a totally crazy release date that would make you go 'wow.' And I'm not expecting them to put a price up front that exceeds the historical $600 mark. Which is not to say they can't go above that mark with a 2TB harddrive version or something like that. A gtx1070 is like $450 where I live for a consumer. Console efficiency doesn't stand for much. Used to be what, 20%? And with PC-like architectures that has gotten worse. They can buy their tech, whatever it is, to reach that performance, at lower prices + in bulk but there's the overhead of MS itself and their R&D, the software side and needing more than just a GPU in a box. So I'll just roughly take that as a very loose price indication. I don't think they want to sell at a loss because a large part of the potential buyers are customers who upgrade from Xb1 to Scorpio. So that would mean taking a hit with nothing to show for. So that is my reasoning.

I think October is the safest bet since that way Microsoft can aim to Black Friday and Christmas as for price point I think $499.

November is always a big month for releases. Both PS4 and XB1 dropped in November and that's normally around the time of a COD title. Also, right before the holidays to build hype and determine marketing strategy based on initial sales for the December month.

If it does what they claim it's capable of it might be priced around $499... We shall see

If MS really wanted to make a statement, release it Aug/Sep and make it $399... Or even have it ready for a release window within a month of E3. I just pray it's not some big bulky mess but it probably will be closer in size to the original XB1

I think they would take a hit and release at $399. That's the sweet spot for a lot of early adopters for consoles. Anymore than that I don't think they could compete with a $199 slim PS4 or a $299 Pro. Which Sony could do this Holiday.

MS typical release new systems in November. Holiday 2017 kind of limits the range dramatically, making this thread kind of pointless.

Probably January of 2018. Would be a great strategy to capitalize on all the PS4 Pro's which are likely going get returned by unhappy customers. Kids of all ages are going to be disappointed their games don't run in TRUE 4k, so many will want to return it for a true powerhouse in the Xbox Scorpio.

Thinking October at a premium price of 599.00 Phil even said it's for the hardcore player wanting more. Want a premium toy w all the bells and whistles? Gotta pay the price. For me it's a pre order ASAP Hopefully Sony will answer and actually complete so I can replace my PS4 slim. And no the PS4 pro isn't the answer, sorry but Scorpio stung it to its death lol

Well, recently Microsoft has had a habit of releasing there big holiday titles in October. They did last year with Gears 4 and the year before with Halo 5.

To me, it makes sense that they should launch the Scorpio with whatever there big game is for this holiday, so I'm gonna guess October.

Black Friday-ish is my guess.

October-November would be my guess. It would be great if they came out earlier though, from what I read the Scorpio production is well ahead of schedule.
