Well I gotta go with the holy grail of interactive sci-fi as I keep saying, Mass Effect. Reading the prequel book right now, its pretty cool and I'm not even a big reader :D
PS3 I'd agree with. But Wii has a handful of games that could be contenders. While I don't personally enjoy the MP series, I'm not going to discredit the possibility that MP3 will be at least a candidate. SSBB I doubt will be. It's a fun game and has a lot of fans, but the series itself is not GOTY material. That doesn't mean it's not as good as MP3 or Halo 3 or whatever, but it just means that SSBB isn't the "type" of game that gets GOTY. Galaxy will likely be nominated but I don't think it can win (nor do I think Halo 3 can). It will come down to Bioshock, Mass Effect, and MP3. Who will win? Not sure yet, I'll have to play these games to find out.
I'm almost for sure BioShock will get it, but to say Mario/Metroid is not goty "worthy" is pathetic. But I guess you said "most likely" (which nothing will beat it, in my opinion).
I guess that means MP3, SSBB and SMG don't stand a chance :|

SSBB has never been GOTY meterial, its an average fighter with cute characters...
Lastly, SMG may fight its way in there if Nintendo can figure out a way to make the wii controls feel natural and not tacked on, something they've not been able to do since wiiSports...

Ignore the blind sheep. He's ridiculously banking on these games on being GOTY because he knows that there won't be anything else worth playing on the Wii, once the NIntendrought sets in.

If E3 is an indication of anything, MP3 isn't even in the top 7 candidate on just about every gamin site. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

too bad that wii has created a system that will overall help the gaming community. some casuals will go over to being manticores. it has grannies playing it, and not everyone's "game" is bioshock.
The following games IMO will be worthy of being nominated.
Bioshock Halo 3 Mass Effect Crysis Hell Gate London Call of Duty 4 Assassins Creed Unreal 3 Super Smash Bros. Brawl Super Mario Galaxy Metroid Prime 3 Uncharted Heavenly Sword
and IMO you can only narrow this list down to maybe 5 to 6 out of 13. well smash by defualt being a fighter is out because when did fighters ever win. It could honestly get a 10 and not win. Soul Caliber never won.
IMO Metroid Prime 3 will be overshadowed by Mario Galaxy and Bioshock which is the same type of game really.
Halo 3 wll probably contend. so will Mass Effect.
Crysis is a given. and i guess Heavenly Sword from the PS3.
So id say the 6 nominations will be
Bioshock Crysis Mass Effect Halo 3 Super Mario Galaxy Heavenly Sword.

Yea they dont Bioshock delivers on an amazing story, awesome gameplay and great AI as well as amazing graphics. Nothing an the wii delivers on all those aspects even when graphics is not included. But yes the ps3 has lair, warhawk, Socom, HS, Uncharted, UT3, Ratchet, Haze, Assassins Creed, and CoD4. The games i see in that list that could take it would be UT3 and CoD4 neither exclusive but still on the ps3. And from what im hearing UT3(between the consoles) will be better on the Ps3 with more levels and cross-platform play(with pc) through gamespy. Also it has been said that CoD4 will be getting extra content on the Pc and Ps3. And there have been rumblings about bioshock coming to ps3 but im not gonna get into that.
... most of them are appearing on the 360, not the PS3 or Wii.
