When's the last time you shopped for games at a physical store?

Easily over ten years ago

Pre-pandemic. It's all digital now. Last time was a GameStop when I was looking for used. Was already slumming it walking into the place.

The last physical game I bought was Mario 3D All Stars (I wanted a copy to keep).

Well I was just browsing through the game section at my local Wal-mart yesterday. My last physical game purchase was Guardians of the Galaxy for Xbox after this past Christmas season. My next physical game purchase will probably be Elden Ring for Xbox at the end of this month.

PC is all digital for obvious reasons

Yesterday. Picked up a GBA version of Urbz: Sims in the City at a local store. Though when I was at Gamestop, I picked up a $25 XBOX currency card (and finished getting the DLC for Jump Force and got Rayman 3 on sale).

Physical games are on life support. The gamers who are into physical should have been requesting more modern mediums but the lack of this shift and demand is going to make its existence even shorter than it already is.

I do at times go to Target and go to their Electronic section and sometimes I'll look at Nintendo Switch physical games and if I see a deal vs on Amazon, I'll just buy it in-person but that's getting rare these days so I went with "Within the last year" as it basically once a year for me. Everything else is straight to digital but the Switch.

Last game I bought in store was Nickelodeon Allstars at GameStop on Black Friday

It has been more than five years since I bought a game from a physical store (I do not remember what that game was), as all the games I bought in the last several years have been from online stores or from the Nintendo eShop.

I still buy my kids physical games for their birthdays/Christmas because it’s more fun for them to open something. There’s games they’ve literally played once though, because changing physical carts out on the Switch kinda defeats the purpose of its portability. “Your copy of Hot Wheels Unleashed is in your room.” “Nevermind, I’ll play something else.”

I buy everything from my local Walmart or Bestbuy. The only reason i had to order Elden Ring online (for a physical copy of course) for delivery is because dem bitches are now asking for a vaccine passport just to enter the damn store.

It's been a while, at least before covid, but usually were games in the bargain bin.

I hate digital you dont truly own the game and also sales are not has common. I only go digital if there is no chose. Now its rare that I go into a store to buy though has I normally just have games shipped to me.

Astral Chain for the Switch at Cex (yes, thats what the store is called XD). Its a second hand store. Outside of BotW, all my switch games have been second hand cause f*ck Nintendo bloated prices. How can 5yo games still be sold at full retail price?

Having the option I still go for physical. I only buy digital when its a really really good sale like 1 to 5€ games. The most I ever gave for digital was 24€ for the MCC on steam and that was a 5 games pack

It's rare that I buy in person, but that's less because of digital and more because I don't like modern games.

Got Monster Hunter Rise physical on release.

I know it doesn't make much sense to buy games physical anymore, but with Nintendo it's different. I don't expect Nintendo to ever let us have an account and link our games to it, so that we can download our Switch games for Nintendo's next console. That would be too convenient and make too much sense. It's more likely that their next console can play Switch cartridges. So I'm basically making the future safe for my Switch games because Nintendo is terrible at online stuff.

If I get a game on console day 1 it's physical simply because they are 10e or more cheaper than digital, mostly they are ordered but I have picked a few up while doing groceries n stuff. If digital on console was the same price I would most likely be full digital on consoles too, but when you can often grab physical 20 or even 30e cheaper, digital in eu just feels like a scam, but when PSN has no alternatives that's what you get

Last time I bought some console games from a store was December of 2019. Ever since Covid happened, I have been buying games from Amazon.

Probably once in last year, technically I bought a copy of SMT3: Nocturne for my Switch from Target and not GameStop but that was the only time in a couple years.

Lost Judgement on PS4 from Best Buy last year there's one thing I'm noticing from Best Buy and it irritates me they rarely put up new releases on their shelves it's so annoying. You have to ask a worker and they have to go to the back in the warehouse part of the store to fetch it. I miss seeing the game on the shelf and picking it up can't even have little nice things anymore in this shitty era.
