The PS2 is finally beginning it's slow death. It's been an awesome system and has had a great run. But the market is ready for the next gen. Let's see....there's the PS3 that's $600. It's selling terribly which means nobody is eagerly spilling into the PS2's sequel. There's the 360, which isn't doing so well either, but hardcores love it. Then there is the Wii which is a casual's paradise and has been selling out instantly since launch 5 months ago.
My point? People arn't going to wait 3+ years for the PS3 to drop to an affordable price. They want a fun, unique, and affordable console and that's what the Wii is offering. The arguement that 110m people, about 80% casuals, will remain devoted to Sony is just rediculous.
Cows, before responding remember: E3 2006.
